Chicago Teachers Union Polls Members To See If They'd Be Willing to Go On Strike to Return to "Virtual Learning" AKA Sitting On Their Asses At Home "Teaching" On Zoom Calls

It's all about the kids, you know? All about the kids.

That's all they care about. The kids. Just the kids.

Their slogan is "Safe Return or No Return." And they're claiming they're not safe in class, so the real options are either "virtual learning" or "work stoppages," that is, strikes.

80% of teachers voted to walk out.

Despite the proof that kids simply do not learn via "virtual learning" -- I mean, they barely learn in government school classrooms when they're forced to pay attention; when they can just play on their phones, forget about it -- and despite evidence they've lost IQ points and regressed in their socio-psychological development during lockdowns, teachers are at it again, demanding to be part of the Laptop Class they've decided they're a part of even though everyone else seems to think they're civil servants who come to schools every day to teach children.

They're like, "Nah, we're Upscale Media Professionals Who Work Via Computer and we'll strike at our government union jobs until you recognize that fact."

And parents will just have to pay people to watch their kids during school hours.

This won't stop until a president and congress cut all funding for local schools unless the schools are taught in person, always, with only minor allowances made for, say, winter storm emergencies. Otherwise teachers will campaign for Fridays At-Home and then Thursdays and Fridays At-Home and then this bullshit of Everyday At-Home. They've just decided this is their new job description.

Frankly it just may be time to consider defunding any school system that recognizes a teachers union.
