This Is CNN: The 15 Most Embarrassing Moments From the Cringe Network

At Breitbart.

They couldn't get the list down to ten, so they gave us 15.

Here are a few good ones you might have forgotten:

3.) David Chalian Claims National Mall's Lights Are Extensions of Joe Biden's Arms Embracing America

Days before President Biden took the oath of office, CNN's David Chalian gushed over lighting decorations that he believed were "extensions of Joe Biden's arms embracing America."

Chalian heralded a National Mall ceremony that paid tribute to 400,000 Americans who lost their lives to the coronavirus. The ceremony's decorations included lights along the mall's reflection pool.

"The contrast on display tonight was so stark, I mean those lights that are just shooting out of the Lincoln Memorial along the Reflecting Pool, it's like almost extensions of Joe Biden's arms embracing America," Chalian compared Biden to Donald Trump.

"It was a moment where the new president came to town and sort of convened the country in this moment of remembrance, outstretching his arms," Chalian continued to gush. "And contrast that with the video you just saw of a disgraced president, on his way out, at his lowest point in his presidency, at the very end here, by himself, fighting for his political movement to live on."

9.) CNN Business Reportedly Investigated for Treatment of Women

Breitbart News reported in April that CNN's parent company AT&T is investigating CNN business for the treatment of women in the workplace after Annalyn Kurtz, a senior editor, left the 60 person newsroom.

And then there was the time that Jake Tapper, of "VetCon One" infamy, questioned the patriotism of a vet who'd given two legs on foreign battlefields, because he disputed the leftwing Democrat line Tapper favored (as he always favors).

11.) Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) Demands Jake Tapper Apologize for Remarks About Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL)

Mast "lost his legs fighting for democracy abroad, although I don't know about his commitment to it here in the United States," Tapper questioned Mast's patriotism in January.

Scalise told Fox News that Tapper's comments were "disgraceful" and worthy of an apology.

"That was a disgraceful comment," Scalise said. "Jake Tapper needs to just apologize and admit what he said was wrong. I'm dear friends with Brian Mast. Brian last night went to Walter Reed Hospital and worked out with wounded warriors.

"Brian lost two legs fighting for this country," Scalise continued. "To question his love for this country and his commitment to this country when he literally lost his two legs and lost some fingers as a bomb squad technician fighting for our freedoms, he [Tapper] owes Brian Mast an apology."

Remember, though: Jake loves the troops. He just loves those darned troops.

Especially now, now that his producer and bestie has been arrested on suspicion of solicitation of inappropriate sexual material of a minor.

God does he love TROOPS! Get those sexy rascals over here, let him get his shoes off so he can rub them off four men at a time!

Daniel Greenfield wrote a good essay last week: "The Last Days of CNN."

The main question it asks: Is anyone really going to pay six dollars a month for "CNN+," CNN's streaming service? Which doesn't feature CNN content, such as it is, but... other crap?

It's a rhetorical question. Because the answer is "Obviously not, and fuck you for even asking."

CNN President Jeff Zucker billed CNN+ as being for "CNN superfans, news junkies and fans of quality non-fiction programming."

The existence of CNN superfans is as improbable as Bigfoot and UFOs. No one has ever spotted a CNN superfan in the wild and not even the most exotic zoos have them in stock.

News junkies certainly exist, but they don't bother with CNN which doesn't offer news.

All that's left is the "quality non-fiction programming" which is a euphemism for infotainment, cooking shows, travel shows, and whatever else you can find on PBS, Discovery, and a host of similar cable channels that, unlike CNN, people will actually watch on their own time.

But CNN is short on options. Like the Washington Post and the New York Times, and other media outlets that monetized hatred for Trump, the Biden era was a rude awakening. After killing the golden goose, they're trying to figure out how to market themselves without him.

Unlike the Post, which is owned by Amazon's Jeff Bezos, and the New York Times, which is a family business, nobody really wants CNN. AT&T, which got CNN as part of a package deal, decided to roll the whole thing into the Warner Brothers Discovery megacompany. With its new motto of, "The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of", there's no real room for CNN in the company.

The last thing anyone associates with CNN is the stuff that dreams are made of.

CNN+ is a frantic effort to pivot back to Jeff Zucker's earlier plans to transform the news network into infotainment. And CNN+ is focusing on having Chris Wallace interview and bore assorted personalities, while actors Stanley Tucci and Eva Longoria wander around Italy and Spain.

But that just raises the question of why anyone would pay $5.99 for a mediocre copy of PBS.

...

It's a humiliating end for CNN. And a thoroughly deserved one.
