"QAnon Shaman" Sentenced to Nearly Four Years in Jail -- For... Trespassing

They also claim he "obstructed" the functioning of Congress -- a charge that has never before been laid against any protester disrupting a congressional vote or hearing.

And he "obstructed" Congress for like, what, an hour and a half?

Non-violently, of course.

Though they're apparently charging him with... other people's violence.

Because he made himself "emblematic" of the whole event, by being a striking, photogenic person that the media loved putting on the front page.

While most antifa who attacked people at the RNC weren't even charged, and those who were charged were sentenced to time served.

He's been rotting in solitary confinement for 10 months. And now he'll spend 31 months more in jail.

For... "parading in a public place."

The sentence matches one imposed by a judge on a former mixed martial artist Scott Fairlamb, who was filmed punching a police officer during violence, who was sentenced last week to 41 months in prison.

Parading is just as bad as punching a cop.

And also, no antifa or BLM "peaceful protesters" punched a cop.

Lamberth said he believed Chansley, who made a lengthy speech before he was sentenced, had done a lot to convince the court he is 'on the right track.'

Chansley's attorneys asked the judge for a sentence of time served for their client, who has been detained since his January arrest. He appeared in court in a dark green prison jumpsuit, with a beard and shaved head.

'He made himself the image of the riot, didn't he?' Lamberth said to Chansley's lawyers. 'For good or bad, he made himself the very image of this whole event.'

"Making yourself the image of the event" is now a crime, or an intensifier to the crime of parading. In the first degree.

You might think, "Well, they have to punish a violent offender, right?"

Nope. Cheney committed no violent acts. Not even charged with any violence.

lenn Greenwald @ggreenwald

He got 41 months in prison, after already spending 10 months in solitary confinement.

Only a sick, punitive society imprisons non-violent protesters for years in harsh conditions -- or one that regards particular ideologies as inherently criminal:

Josh Gerstein
@joshgerstein

Feds seeking 51-month sentence for Chansley, although he's not accused of and did not admit to violence

But he made the KarenPundits upset -- he disturbed their 8 hours-per-day ritual of obsessing over Twitter-- and he "paraded" and "made himself the image of the event," so he's going to be treated as if he committed one tenth of the violence that antifa thugs commit and get no time for.

Julie Kelly @julie_kelly2

WTF Lamberth says Chansley was "smart" to plea because other J6 defendants with same charges face 20 years in jail. Nothing like a biased warning to others to take DOJ plea deals. WOW.

For the morons now trolling every post, Chansley, unlike 2020 rioters, committed no violent crime. He did not destroy any property, use a weapon, or assault an officer. He was allowed into the building. He pleaded guilty to obstruction, a charge never before used on protesters.

Julie Kelly livetweeted this horror show. She was monitoring the feed. It's sickening.

Update:

Here's how Newsmax decided to report this:

Newsmax
@newsmax

A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced the U.S. Capitol protester nicknamed the "QAnon Shaman" for his horned headdress to 41 months in prison for his role in the deadly Jan. 6 attack.

"Deadly"?

You mean when Capitol Police officer Michael Byrd executed an unarmed female veteran?

Is that what you mean, "conservative alternative to Fox" Newsmax?

But antifa's calls to "Burn it down" are just... what? Protected first amendment speech I guess.

But "Stop the Steal" is an illegal "call to battle."

Fuck this country.

Since "Burn it down" is protected speech, at least when spoken by antifa and BLM:

Burn it down. Burn it all down. "Fire and riots and bloodshed," as BLM lead Hawk Newsome said.

I'm antifa or BLM, now, I just decided, so I'm allowed to say that. I'm part of The Regime's unofficial (but official) street paramilitary forces/vigilante Social Justice Enforcement Units. So now I have the Special Rights of "Fiery But Mostly Peaceful Protest" that antifa and BLM have.

25 Rand Paul just called, to remind us the Washington DC prosecutors never even arrested the Antifites who assaulted his wife and him as they walked to their car from the fucking White House and the policeman who protected them was put in the hospital by the rioters, as he tried to protect the Pauls.
