Little blog business: The cobloggers have very kindly agreed to give me the greatest present in the world: A vacation. I'll be taking Thanksgiving week off, mostly, until the Tuesday after. I may check in here and there.

I can't tell you how thankful I am to the cobloggers for this. It will be so good to have a week off.

Try not to give them too much trouble, huh? If they caution you and you disagree with their opinion, just remember, everyone takes a beating sometimes right?

If you guys miss me half as much as I miss you, then I'll miss you twice as much as you'll miss me.

The script supervisor says that Alec Baldwin cocked and fired the loaded gun for a scene that did not require either action.

Alec Baldwin "intentionally" fired a gun toward cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the "Rust" movie set, disregarding set protocol in the deadly shooting, according to a new lawsuit filed Wednesday.

In the suit, Mitchell claimed, "Alec Baldwin intentionally, without just cause or excuse, cocked and fired and loaded gun even though the upcoming scene to be filmed did not call for the cocking and firing of a firearm."

She's suing, I imagine, for intentional infliction of emotional distress, but I stopped reading after that.

My whole theory on this is that Baldwin blew off safety protocols because he thought those were for "Noobies" (of which he was one) and imagined that Real Men and Experienced Gun-Handlers (of which he is neither) would handle guns in a casual, dick-slinging way having no fear of the weapon because they're just so comfortable with them they're extensions of their body. So to prove he was a Real Man who Really Knew Guns Well (again, neither of these were true), he just slung the gun around casually aiming at people and firing it to show he wasn't a p*ssy who's afraid of a gun.

He's an asshole, a narcissist, an idiot, and... something else. I don't know the full story, but I know someone -- Adam Carolla, maybe? -- spoke of his respect for Tina Fey for being able to control Alec Baldwin and get him to actually work and read his lines on 30 Rock. He didn't elaborate, but he made it sound like this was a very difficult and very emotionally and physically draining ordeal.

You can speculate the reasons about why a 50 year old actor would have trouble being available to work on time and reading his lines. I can only think of substance abuse, or possibly extreme psychological problems, as reasons for the need of being carefully and closely monitored and handled as if he were a dangerous circus animal being asked to work with humans.

I don't like David French wearing blackface at church. I know he adopted a black daughter, but isn't it still racially insensitive to attend black church in full blackface?
