Hillary's Minions Conspired to Push False Alfa Bank Story Even After Election In Order to Spitefully, Cynically Hobble a Duly-Elected President Fairly Chosen by the American People

This should not be a surprise, except to NeverTrumpers and their leftist media allies, of course, who have studiously refused to confront the overwhelming evidence of Russiagate's status as a cynical hoax from its outset.

It was reported by leftwing reporters Jonathan Allen and Annie Parnes in their book Shattered thatHillary Clinton decided to sabotage the administration of an incoming president by pushing this hoax within 24 hours of losing the election, both out of a wounded sense of entitlement transformed into vicious, unpatriotic spitefulness, and to explain away her historic loss as all due to the action of an enemy regime.

Hillary Clinton hostaed a plan and personally placed blame for her election loss on Russia just "twenty-four hours of her concession speech."

The stunning revelation was reported by journalists Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, who methodically detailed in their Clinton campaign tell-all, Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign how Clinton helped fan the flames of "Russian collusion" by blaming her election loss on the FBI investigation into her private emails and Russian interference.

"She wants to make sure all these narratives get spun the right way," a longtime Clinton confidant told Allen and Parnes. The pair detailed how Hillary Clinton's Russia-blame-game was spurred by her senior campaign staffers John Podesta and Robby Mook, less than "within twenty-four hours" after she conceded to Trump.

From Shattered:

That strategy had been set within twenty-four hours of her concession speech. Mook and Podesta assembled her communications team at the Brooklyn headquarters to engineer the case that the election wasn't entirely on the up-and-up. For a couple of hours, with Shake Shack containers littering the room, they went over the script they would pitch to the press and the public. Already, Russian hacking was the centerpiece of the argument.

The Clinton camp's Russia propaganda strategy was two-pronged: first, they encouraged a willing and sympathetic media to cover how "Russian hacking was the major unreported story of the campaign, overshadowed by the contents of stolen e-mails and Hillary's own private-server imbroglio," while "hammering the media for focusing so intently on the investigation into her e-mail, which had created a cloud over her candidacy," Allen and Parnes wrote.

John Sexton points out this new report by Paul Sperry of Real Clear Politics' detailing the Hillary Clinton conspiracy's campaign to delegitimize, destabilize, and cripple a presidency before it had even begun.

A Hillary Clinton campaign operation to plant a false rumor about Donald Trump setting up a "secret hotline" to Moscow through a Russian bank was much broader than known and involved multiple U.S. agencies, according to declassified documents and sources briefed on an ongoing criminal investigation of the scheme.

In addition to the FBI, the 2016 Clinton campaign tried to convince the Obama administration’s State Department, Justice Department and Central Intelligence Agency to look into the hoax, and continued pressing the issue even after Trump was inaugurated in January 2017.

The goal was to trigger federal investigative activity targeting her Republican rival and leak the damaging information to the media.

"The Clinton machine flooded the FBI with pressure from a number of angles until investigations of Trump were opened and reopened," said one of the briefed sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive law enforcement matter. "The deception was wide-ranging."

Sperry notes that even though Hillary Clinton's minions doubted their "Alfa Bank" story, calling it "weak," they repeatedly attempted to inflame the intelligence and law enforcement branches of the Deep State to attack the Trump Presidency based on... nothing. A hoax.

When Michael Sussman's entreaties didn't work -- he's the Hillary Clinton lawyer recently indicted by John Durham for lying to the FBI about who his client was -- they gave Christopher Steele the same hoax and sent him to re-pitch the hoax to them, claiming he was also hearing about the Alfa Bank Connection.

Lying, of course. He got it from the same place they'd all already heard it from.

After Sussmann's meeting with the FBI in September 2016, the Clinton campaign approached the State Department the following month with the same lead, this time using paid Clinton campaign subcontractor Christopher Steele to feed the rumors. A former British intelligence officer, Steele was offered as a reliable source to help corroborate the rumors. On Oct. 11, 2016, Steele gave his contact at Foggy Bottom documents alleging that a supposed hidden server at Trump Tower was pinging Moscow.

Two days later, a State official who previously worked under former secretary Clinton funneled the information to the FBI's then-top Eurasia/Russia counterintelligence official, Stephen Laycock, according to recently declassified notes and testimony. Laycock, in turn, forwarded the information to Peter Strzok, the FBI agent who led the investigation of Trump and his campaign and had just weeks earlier texted a bureau lawyer, "We'll stop [Trump from being elected]."

...

Steele, who later confessed he was "desperate" to defeat Trump, was the author of the debunked dossier claiming Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election. He even misspelled the name of the Russian bank as "Alpha." Still, the FBI took his rumors seriously enough to interview tech vendors working for the Trump Organization and obtain warrants to search Trump Tower servers. Within days of receiving the State Department tip, Strzok also used Steele's dossier to secure a wiretap on Trump adviser Carter Page.

Clinton foreign policy adviser and current National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan would put out a written statement trumpeting the Trump-Alfa Bank story, which was shared by then-candidate Clinton on Oct. 31, 2016, after Slate reported on it. Fusion GPS, the Washington opposition-research group that worked for the Clinton campaign as a paid agent, and helped gather dirt on Alfa Bank and draft the materials Sussmann would later submit to the FBI, reportedly pressed Slate to publish the story by the account of its author, journalist Franklin Foer.

"This was a highly sophisticated operation using enablers in both the media and federal agencies," George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley told RealClearInvestigations.

The Clinton campaign did not let up even after Trump won the election.

Do read the whole thing.

It makes me laugh so darkly when fanatical, evil NeverTrumpers like AllahPundit, Jonah Goldberg, and David French cry about Trump "spreading poison about the illegitimacy of our elections."

They pushed Hillary Clinton's conspiracy theories -- based on nothing but partisan animus and wounded pride, and of course Sydney Blumenthal's Wormtongue-like whisperings of wheels-within-wheels conspiracy theories -- for four F***ING years.

They have never apologized for this. They spread lie after lie after lie to cripple a duly elected president, chosen by the American people, and have never once accounted for their actions.

And then they dare to complain that Trump is spreading CONSPIRACY THEORIES that cast our PRECIOUS AMERICAN SYSTEM OF ELECTIONS into doubt.

Really, AllahPundit? Really, Jonah? Really, Blessing of Liberty Davey?

What would that be like, I wonder?

Oh, and by the way: The excuse that Jonah and Blessing of Liberty offer is that they were merely reporting on events, not endorsing any claims.

Though they really really pushed these particular claims, they say they were just neutrally presenting the news of the day.

Strangely enough, neither of these two have chosen to report on the evidence of the real conspiracy, the conspiracy by Hillary Clinton and her DNC and private lawyers to throw America into chaos for four years out of spite and to make excuses for herself.

If they were just "neutrally reporting" on Hillary's claims, why do they refuse to similarly "neutrally report" on the exposure of her claims as a paid pack of lies?

And AllahPundit -- well, you know his game. He simply won't report on this stuff at all. He was Hot Air's chief conspiracy theorist through RussiaGate, and now that RussiaGate is a proven conspiracy theory, he won't write a word about it.

Thus leaving this article to John Sexton to write up.

Again.
