Universities Are Removing Everything Connected To Historical Racism, So Why Is The Democratic Party Still Tolerated On Campuses?

If universities are going to purge and cancel everything that has any historic association with racism, isn’t it time for the Democratic Party to be canceled from America’s college campuses too?

Colleges across the land are going to absurd levels to prove their opposition to historic racism, doing things such as removing racist boulders and creating marching bands that don’t actually play music. The Democrats are the party in American history of slavery, separate-but-equal, Jim Crow, the KKK, and Segregation. If we’re going to remove everything touched by racism in the past, then it’s way past time for faculty and College Democrats to renounce any association with the racist word “Democrat.”

The University of Wisconsin actually just removed a boulder from campus because it might have once been referred to with a derogatory name.

University of Wisconsin moves a boulder seen as symbol of racism

The University of Wisconsin has removed a 70-ton boulder from its Madison campus at the request of minority students who viewed the rock — which was referred to by a slur for blacks — as a symbol of racism. Chamberlin Rock atop Observatory Hill…was at least once referred to as a “n—–head” rock in a 1925 article in the Wisconsin State Journal. University historians have not found any other time that the term was used, but they said the Ku Klux Klan was active on campus at that time, according to the newspaper.

By the way, the KKK was the terror arm of the Democratic Party. Even Politifact acknowledges the historic relationship of the KKK to the Democratic Party, quoting Eric Foner, a Columbia University history professor:

"In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired restoration of white supremacy," he said.

How is that the University of Wisconsin removed a rock that may have had a racist nickname in the 1920s, but it allows the party of the KKK to still have an active chapter of College Democrats?

Meanwhile, the school song at the University of Texas, “The Eyes of Texas,” is the focus of campus outrage for being racist, even though it has no racist lyrics. It is known to have been sung at minstrel shows in the early 1900s, along with other popular songs and folk tunes of the time. But still, the outrage mob came after it. And because the President of UT is a weak man who is terrified of saying “No” to teenaged clarinet players,
the university is creating a separate student marching band in 2022 for the express purpose of protesting The Eyes of Texas rather than actually playing the school song.

Again, if The Eyes of Texas is problematic because it was sung in minstrel shows over a century ago, what is the Democratic Party still doing with a presence on campus? Back when minstrels were singing a re-purposed folk tune, the Democratic Party was enforcing legal segregation and sending its terror arm out to lynch black Americans.

(Off topic comment – does the Southeastern Conference realize what a toxic seed it is planting in its conference by bringing in Texas and all its woke idiocy?)

The main activity going on at campuses in the name of addressing historic racism is the re-naming of buildings.

Inside Higher Ed approvingly provides a list of many of the names being scrubbed.

Western Carolina University renamed its auditorium, which was named for Clyde Hoey, a former North Carolina governor who opposed racial integration in the early 1900s. The change was “long overdue,” Chancellor Kelli Brown said in a statement.

Hoey was a Democrat, the party that advocated for and enforced segregation. So why is there still a chapter of College Democrats at Western Carolina?

Clemson University in South Carolina renamed its honors college, which was previously named for John C. Calhoun.

So why does John Calhoun’s racist party, the Democrats, still have an active student organization at Clemson?

Princeton University took Woodrow Wilson’s name off its School of Public and International Affairs and one of its residential colleges, citing the former American president’s “segregationist policies.”

Woodrow Wilson, a Democrat whose left-wing economic policies and world-government idealism would be right at home in today’s Democratic Party, was such a virulent racist that he actually re-segregated the federal government when he became President. Even the partisan leftists at Vox note that
Wilson wrote about black Americans being an “an ignorant and inferior race.” How is it possible that 100 years after Wilson left office, his racist party still has a College Democrats chapter at Princeton?

A quick web search shows an almost endless array of these name-scrubbings. At Oklahoma State:

The Oklahoma A&M/OSU regents on Friday unanimously approved removal of the Murray name from Oklahoma State University Stillwater-campus buildings. The namesake comes from William H. "Alfalfa Bill" Murray, the state's ninth governor, who was a noted Segregationist.

You guessed it. Alfalfa Bill was a Democrat, the party that advocated for and enforced segregation. Again, why is there still a chapter of College Democrats at OSU if the school is serious about removing all of the names associated with historic racism at the Stillwater campus?

The bottom line is that the Democratic Party has a history that is defined by racism and segregation. The use of the word “Democrat” should be considered as offensive as the use of the “N word.” In fact, “Democrat” has such an ugly, racist history that going forward we should just refer to it as the “D word.”

It’s past time for the racist “D-word” and any organization associated with that racist word to be cancelled from American universities.
