Lester Holt Will Present the Defense for Ashli Babbit's Executioner

Lester Holt will interview Ashli Babbit's killer on MSNBC tomorrow night.

He will of course be presented as the very first cop to commit the trans-racial killing of an unarmed suspect who acted completely heroically and not at all motivated by bloodlust or racial animus.

NBC News's Lester Holt will interview the Capitol Police officer who shot Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, the network announced.

The interview, set to air Thursday, will be the first time the officer publicly reveals his identity since the events of that day. It will also come days after Capitol Police formally exonerated the officer after an internal review found that the officer's actions were justified.

Capitol Police said Monday that the officer's conduct was lawful and within the department's policy to use deadly force "only when the officer reasonably believes that action is in the defense of human life, including the officer's own life, or in the defense of any person in immediate danger of serious physical injury."

Where was the immediate danger posed by an unarmed woman of smaller stature?

Why not fire warning shots into the floor?

NBC said in a statement that the officer will discuss his exoneration, as well as "his perspective on the events of that day, including the aftermath of the deadly insurrection and the threats he has received."

Oh, he's received death threats.

I'm glad none of the cops targeted by Black Lives Matter -- with rioting, menacing "protests" of their homes, and constant death threats -- can relate.

Weird how online abuse and death threats only become an issue when they're coming to a figure on the left, rather than from figures on the left.

Friends of mine say that this is the cop who left a fully-loaded gun behind in a Capitol Hill bathroom.

Can't wait to see this guy's online history. I'm sure Lester Holt will confront him with that.

Friends also are taking bets on who cries more in this "interview," Lester Holt or the killer cop.
