National Review, Years Late (As Usual): Gee, There Seems to Be Something Wrong With Biden's Brain

Alternate title: Biden Voters Posting Their L's Online.

Jim Geraghty, Dan McLaughlin, and Andy McCarthy -- all fire-breathing liberal bourgeoisie NeverTrumpers who supported Biden for president (even if they resort to the usual NeverTrumper claim that It's not binary and that relentlessly attacking one candidate -- Trump -- is not de facto support of the only other real candidate) -- suddenly realize: Hey, there's something wrong with Biden's brain. We should look into this further!!!

Correction: A commenter says that Andy McCarthy supported Trump in 2020, and he's right.

But Andy McCarthy has also vouched for just about every Deep State schemer involved in coup attempts against Trump, too.

Jeff Weimar says that Geraghty has "questioned" Biden's cognitive ability before. Well, I don't remember that, and National Review and Geraghty are sure promoting this article as a major breaking story, so that previous "questioning" must not have been particularly strong. Certainly there were no claims that he was unfit to be president.

Certainly this is not being written as a "as I've previously reported" piece. This is being written up as important new information that must be added toe the caclulus.

Some of us added this old, old information into the calculus in 2020, but I guess only less-intelligent, disreputable analysts can successfully diagnose situations early. The very smart, reputable analysts do so too late to guide important decisions

The National Review Brain Trust is firing on all one cylinders, as usual.

Make sure you donate in their next Web-A-Thon! It's not fair to make FaceBook and Google pay for everything!

Something Is Wrong with the President - @jimgeraghty
examines the interview against other things we know. Not good ...

@baseballcrank

In which @jimgeraghty raises the elephant in the room regarding the oldest man ever to hold the job: Something Is Wrong with the President

Boy, it sure is lucky that you're only discovering this now. Had you achieved this obvious realization in, say, April of 2020, you might have been compelled to (reluctantly) support Donald Trump's reelection.

Sometimes ignorance is tactical.

But now the truth can be told.

Years late.

National Review, standing athwart history yelling "We'll acknowledge reality five years from now."

Twitchy has more of this late-breaking news, which is only late-breaking if you're a Professional Thinkfluencer at the corporate toy blog National Review.

Jim Geraghty @jimgeraghty

Biden is barely appearing in public, not saying much of anything when he does, not answering any questions outside of his lone scheduled interview, and sounding angry and indignant when he did face questions from Stephanopoulos.

Biden began the interview by insisting that the intelligence community had given him unclear answers about the state of the Afghan military and government, contradicting what he said about the intelligence on July 8.

Then during the Stephanopoulos interview, Biden insisted that he himself had predicted that the Afghan government would collapse by the end of the year: "Well, by the end of the year, I said that’s that was -- that was a real possibility."

The president either does not remember what he said on July 8, or he is simply trying to gaslight everyone into believing that he did warn of the Afghan government collapsing - the opposite of what he actually said.

"That was four days ago, five days ago!" Biden interjected.

It was two days ago, but that’s not really what is important; what is spectacularly odd is that Biden is reacting as if he thinks Stephanopolous was bringing up irrelevant ancient history.

Biden is now insisting that the chaos of a Taliban takeover was inevitable, even though he stood before the country on July 8 and specifically assured the country that the Taliban takeover was not inevitable.

Biden also insisted that, contrary to published reports, his military advisers did not recommend keeping 2,500 troops in the country. "No one said that to me, that I can recall."

There are meeting notes that can be declassified. We can see if Biden’s advisors really did urge him to keep 2,500 troops there, or if they are lying.

Or if Biden genuinely does not remember what was said and recommended to him in a meeting months ago.

The president turns 79 in November. He last released a summary of his health condition in December 2019. In May, a White House spokesman said Biden had not had a medical checkup or taken a physical this year, but that he would by the end of the year.

Back on July 26, John Ellis astutely analyzed how it was acceptable to acknowledge Biden's age and mental condition if you used certain gentle euphemisms: "He's lost a step or two." "He's lost something off his fastball."

Something is wrong with President Biden, and we are all being asked to pretend to not notice.

Hey Jim-- Biden's advanced dementia has been clear for years. His sundowning, his outbursts of anger when he can't remember a name or basic fact, his frequent confabulation of events that simply never happened -- all have been documented for years.

We noticed.

Why didn't the Biden-boosting Brain Trust at National Review?

You're claiming there's something wrong with Biden's brain.

But perhaps there's equally something wrong with yours.

And I do mean that. It is impossible not to notice that NeverTrump suffered what a psychiatrist would call a nervous breakdown or even a psychotic break in the fall of 2016.

Which they're still coping with. Still inventing new fictions to glue together their shattered reality.

For years you denied the obvious.

Now, when Biden -- a man who's been pushing to withdraw from Afghanistan since 2009 -- fails to live up to your Fantasy Image of him as a Neocon Champion, you claim he's the one with the mental problem.

All right, Jim. All right.

The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem.

National Review

Yesterday's news, Tomorrow.

Now all the Beta Orbiters and Herd-Beasts who can only repeat what their Thought-Givers tell them to repeat will suddenly start talking up Biden's dementia.

They've been given Permission to discuss this now by the Respectable Idiots.
