As you probably know, "equality" is now Officially Racist.

Equality is starting everyone off on the same line as a race and seeing who's fastest.

"Equity" is starting everyone off on different lines -- the fastest further from the finish line, the slowest the closest to it -- in order to pretend that "everyone's the same speed, yay!"

Because blacks and Hispanics lag in achievement in math and reading, we'll just have to do away with any standards in math and reading.

If schools won't be teaching math and literacy any longer, then it's time to fire these f***ers.

We'll teach them at home.

But the teachers will not be collecting money from us any longer.

No, this is not the Bee. Oregon has decided that basic literacy and basic maths competency are not only unworthy goals of K-12 public education but that they shouldn't even be a requirement to "ear"” (really, at this point, just be granted) a high school diploma. Because 'equity.'

For the next five years, an Oregon high school diploma will be no guarantee that the student who earned it can read, write or do math at a high school level.

Gov. Kate Brown had demurred earlier this summer regarding whether she supported the plan passed by the Legislature to drop the requirement that students demonstrate they have achieved those essential skills. But on July 14, the governor signed Senate Bill 744 into law.

Through a spokesperson, the governor declined again Friday to comment on the law and why she supported suspending the proficiency requirements.

Brown's decision was not public until recently, because her office did not hold a signing ceremony or issue a press release and the fact that the governor signed the bill was not entered into the legislative database until July 29, a departure from the normal practice of updating the public database the same day a bill is signed.

Meanwhile, I guess because academic honors are not distributed perfectly according to the desires of racist bean-counters, San Jose State will create a fake, condescending non-honors program for those who can't achieve academic honors.

Higher education honors programs have traditionally been designed to give high-achieving students a chance to push themselves further and deeper academically at the collegiate level, but in today’s age of equity, one university aims to turn the idea on its head.

San Jose State University is working to launch what has been temporarily dubbed the "(un) Honors College" as scholars work to design a model that best fits their vision.

The effort aims to attract the "region's BIPOC communities," stated Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Vincent Del Casino when he announced the undertaking last September.

BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, People of Color.

The large public university nestled in California’s Silicon Valley already offers various traditional honors programs.

The new program would not replace them, Del Casino stated, but instead push "past historical conversations about honors education and toward a dialogue about how we create radical, new learning spaces responsive to and inspired by the complex and intersectional diversity of our local communities and our students."

"Maybe what we end up with doesn't have the word 'honors' in it at all."

The underpinning idea is that the (Un) Honors College would not consist of traditional high-GPA students, but rather "marginalized populations," said professors who are developing the program in a task force presentation in May 2021 posted on YouTube.

But the kids will be tested on the 97 genders and on neopronouns, right? Because that's the only thing that matters.
