Why You Should Vote [Dave in fla]

I’ve thought long and hard on this topic for the last 8 months. I know that some of you (I can name at least 5 off the top of my head) will disagree with me vigorously. I do understand your frustration and reasoning. In January, I was in a very similar state of mind. But I have come to the realization that we must continue to vote.

The joke we use is, “vote harder”. I’m offering a different take, “vote smarter”. For those of you throwing up your hands and saying that we should never vote again, I simply ask: what is your alternative? Do you intend to simply allow the left to take everything you have cherished and worked for away from you, without even offering a fight? If you refuse to fight politically, then what is YOUR plan of action?

This post draws conclusions from my pervious posts. If you haven’t read them, I recommend you take a look. There are 3 important assertions I am making that mean continuing to participate in the political process is critical to our efforts to save our country.

1) Demographics prove that those who love the American way of life and want to preserve it, hold a majority position in the majority of states.

2) States are actively engaged in passing legislation to prevent the fraud that was used in 2020 to steal the election from Trump and four US Senators.

3) States have the power to act independently from the Federal government and are actively using that power to roll back the advances of the cultural Marxists.

These three statements are more than assertions, I have provided citations to show they are facts. These facts give us hope that continuing to fight by voting is not fruitless. It might take us a generation to restore our nation to what the founders intended, but it is a fight we must engage in. The left has been pushing their agenda and corrupting our institutions for 40 years. Do you expect us to restore our nation in months, or even a short 4 years?

The greatest service that Trump did for us, is he showed us who our enemies are. For over 20 years, we have believed that the mainstream GOP in Washington has been on our side and would fight leftism if given the political power to do so. In 2016, we delivered that power to them, and they did nothing with it. Then in 2020, they showed us that more than being simply passive, they would actively work to overthrow the will of the voters that put them in office, rather than continue to allow the outsider we selected to hold the Presidency.

Now we finally know who our enemies are, and we can work against them.

Voting with your ballot

Voting for Congressmen and Senators is an activity that you need to take a cynically. The best-case scenario in Washington right now is achieving gridlock where nothing gets done, and the deep state is tied up in so many investigations that they don’t have the time to mess with the rest of us. If you are lucky enough to have a decent congressman to vote for, cast your vote. If you need to cast your vote to maintain a balance in Congress, then that is ok too. I will probably vote for Rubio because he is generally a reliable vote and keeps Schumer from becoming leader. However, if your Congressman or Senator is actively working against our interests, then getting rid of them should be the top priority. Murkowski and Romney should be voted against, even if that means voting for a Democrat. There is no excuse for RINOs from Alaska and Utah.

At the state level, demand better. If you live in a red state (this includes WI, MI, and PA), don’t accept a RINO just to keep an R in a seat or in the legislature. An interesting case is Vernon Jones in Georgia. If he wins the Democrat nomination, then a viable strategic move might be to put him in office to punish Brian Kemp. While Kemp was generally good during COVID, his refusal to act during the election cost us Georgia and two Senate seats. The bottom line is use your vote as a weapon, and be willing to vote for the most leftist Democrat in history, if it can be used to strategically remove someone who is holding a seat that rightly should be held by an actual Conservative.

In every election, there are important local races and ballot initiatives. Vote out the judges who won’t uphold the law (we did this in Florida), vote for the right sheriff, and vote for a school board that rejects the racist CRT.

Voting with your money

Who you give your money to is also very important. Right now, donations to national GOP organizations and Conservative, Inc is a complete waste. The RNC, RCCC, and RSCC are in the business of keeping the grifters in office and trying to keep legislation that is important to you from ever seeing the light of day. Instead give you money directly to candidates who matter to you, ones that have shown that they will act on your behalf. Getting the right candidate into the state house of representatives keeps a future member of the GOPe from moving up the ladder to the point that they can’t be removed. Your local sheriff is a critical position since that is where nullification of federal overreach will come from.

Also look for issues such as amendments and recalls to donate to. Recalling partisan judges is an effective mechanism to punish them for not upholding the laws you voted for. In Pennsylvania, Governor Wolf’s overreach in COVID response AND election meddling was overturned thanks to a ballot initiative that passed during a special election. This initiative gave the legislature the power to strip him of his emergency powers and eliminate his edicts, which the legislature immediately did. Taking back control of Pennsylvania from the cheating in Philadelphia will take a combination of electing the right people into the legislature, trying to win back the governor’s office, ballot initiatives, and recalls of the state supreme court. I don’t know if Pennsylvania has a recall mechanism, but if they don’t, it is a ripe opportunity for addition through a ballot initiative.

Voting with your feet

Finally, one of the most significant votes you can cast is to move to a place where your vote will have meaning. If you live in a hopelessly blue area, moving to a district or state where your vote can help elect local, state, and national politicians that reflect your political desires is a benefit. If you move to a state like Texas or Florida, you will find the reduction in taxation, regulation, and tyranny to be a refreshing breath of freedom.
