CNN: The Most Trusted Name in Splooge

I know this has been covered. Most of this is a recap, but threaded with new-ish stuff.

If you're bored, skip to the end.

As mentioned yesterday, Jeffrey Toobin was welcomed back by the Michael Avenatti network, despite having been caught on camera jerking off on a zoom call that included women.

The zoom call took place in October 2020 and was about "election integrity" -- I assume Toobin and the New Yorker magazine drulls he was on with were against it, and scheming how to keep Trump from complaining too much about the theft-in-progress.

(Update: A commenter says it was about "wargaming election night," whatever that means.)

The Choad Warrior claimed that being fired from the New Yorker was "excessive" punishment.

Was that wrong?

He then declared that his background was otherwise splotless.

When asked if there would be any more surprises to arise from his former workplace’s investigation, Toobin said "there are no surprises out there about my conduct," and he "doesn’t think there's anything further that is going to come out."

Of course, he overlooked the matter of his having an affair while married with his colleague's much, much younger daughter, knocking her up, and then pressuring her to have an abortion.

He also forced her to get what the New York Daily News called a "risky" paternity test. I assume they mean medically risky. I guess that means taking a DNA sample from the baby while still in utero, maybe?

Greenfield, now 36, was in her 20s when she fell for Toobin, now 49, even though he was wed to Amy McIntosh, the Harvard sweetheart he'd married in 1986 and who gave him two children.

"Jeff and Casey saw each other off and on over the years," says one source. "She was married to someone else for two years. After her divorce, she started seeing Jeff again. He said he was going to leave his wife for her. But, by then, Casey had begun to distrust him. She suspected he had several other mistresses."

In 2008, when Greenfield became pregnant, and when she told Toobin the news, he offered her "money if she'd have an abortion," says a source. He also allegedly offered to pay for her to have another child later via a sperm donor.

"When Casey wouldn't have an abortion, Jeff told her she was going to regret it, that she shouldn't expect any help from him," claims another source.

Greenfield underwent a risky DNA test while pregnant, but Toobin didn't provide his sample and stopped talking to her, according to sources. On the day she gave birth, Greenfield e-mailed Toobin, inviting him to meet his son, Rory. A source says Toobin didn't reply.

Megan Kelley returned to her 2016 form of MeAgain, making a tedious, tendentious Poor Oppressed Millionaire Feminist complaint.

@megynkelly

There is not a woman alive who could have done anything close to what Jeffrey Toobin did (not that one would) and kept her job. What a disgusting,
incestuous boys' club. So damned tired of it.

Look, women don't have to worry about being punished for this because women don't do this. I mean, I know they do this generally, but not compulsively, and not like "Gee I've got ten minutes to kill, wonder what I'll do now, unzzzzzzip," like men do.

Everything with her has to be brought back around to #MeToo #MeAgain.

She really wants to remind you that she's good-looking enough to get hit on at work.

Now, a lot of people may think this was no big deal. Obviously, Toobin didn't intend to be on camera bustin' nut. It wasn't a crime, it was a gaffe.

I... agree with that. I hate to say anything in defense of this monster -- he's a monster for different reasons -- but yeah, men do wack it on the computer, and sometimes they get caught.

There but for the grace of God grow I, amirite

But... in MeAgain's defense, this is not the first time that CNN has been accused of being a "boys club." And we've seen other "news" organizations cover up for the bad behavior of their, I can't believe I'm saying this, male "talent."

Witness NBC News' Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy on Matt Lauer's r@pe dungeon.

Brooke Baldwin was let go by CNN. She then branded CNN a "boys club," which, given its lenient policy on male "talent" jacking it on-camera, is looking like a stronger allegation than at first it seemed.

Last week, Baldwin aired grievances about her employer appearing to favor selecting men over women in positions of authority.

"The most influential anchors on our network, the highest-paid, are men. My bosses, my executives, are men. The person who oversees CNN Dayside is a man, and my executive producer for 10 years is a man. So I've been surrounded by a lot of men," Baldwin told the Ms. Magazine podcast.

...

"I was surrounded by a lot of dudes," she said.

Don't worry though, Don "Gold Standard" LeMon says she's wrong.

He says that if Brooke Baldwin wanted to advance, she could have just done what he did, and flirt with Jeff Zucker.

Lemon appeared to suggest that Baldwin could have cozied up more with CNN President Jeff Zucker, who Lemon invited to have lunch.

"I mean, she can do the same thing," Lemon said before chuckling.

On the other hand: Instapundit brings up a good point: When Clay Travis was on Brooke Baldwin's show speaking about the First Amendment and censorship, he deployed the harmless bon mot that "he likes the First Amendment, he likes boobs."

Pretend-Puritan Brooke Baldwin had an absolute conniption, trying to do her best Margaret Drummond impression.

And she's really not good-looking enough to invite the comparison with Margaret Dummond, who's kinda milfy in comparison with the noxious scold Baldwin.

Instapundit points out that while Clay Travis is still banned from CNN, for r@ping Baldwin's faux-virginal ears, they have no problem with welcoming back Spanky McGoo over here.

So one complaint from a Feminist Drama Queen gets you banned for life.

And yet, someone "in the club" can drop on-camera loads as he pleases.

The rules are different for the Ruling Class, and It's Good To Be The King.

So, all of the above is really just a lot of filler bullshit. It's all just an excuse to post a few funny things.

First of all: The Babylon Bee.

But Babylon Bee is a satire site -- oh wait, it's a site that spreads right-wing information "in the guise of parody," according to the New York Times, the Defamer of Record.

Newsmax is a legit news organization.

And yet Newsmax tops the Bee with this headline.

Stunning and Brave.

And then, this clip from the interview.
