The Morning Rant
I've been pretty pessimistic lately about the direction our country seems to be taking, or more precisely, the cliff our national car seems to be careening toward and I'm thinking there's nothing we can do except wait in dread for the approaching Harris-Biden shitpocalypse.
And yet...
And yet...
I have to admit I don't want to let go of hope. Because one thing you never should do is bet against Donald Trump. I don't care how badly the odds are stacked against him, or how sure and certain the victory of his enemies is, it's just not a smart thing to do. So, I have to ask, what is he doing? He doesn't strike me as the type of guy who just sits there waiting meekly for the end. Trump not the kind of guy who is overtaken by events. Rather, events are overtaken by Trump.
But is this still going to be true?
He doesn't tell you everything. Certainly not the press and the media. Trump lies his ass off to the press because they're not worthy of the truth. They twist, misrepresent, and distort everything he says and then they complain that they're being lied to. Trump deliberately caused false information to be leaked to the media, then TOLD THEM WHAT HE WAS DOING ("the leaks are real, but the news is fake"), but they all just sort of ignored him, and reassured each other that Trump is a big dummy and who cares?
In Trump's favorite book, The Art of War, Sun Tzu says that all warfare is based on deception. This is why I never believed any of those "sources say" stories about the White House being "in complete disarray" and Trump hollering for Steiner like Hitler in that viral Downfall clip. That is, the media may believe this, but it's because Trump wants them to. He is deliberately setting them up.
So I have no idea what Trump is setting up in these next few days. Maybe he'll pull it out, maybe he will lose after all. But one thing I do know, it ain't going to be over until Trump says it's over.

Friday Who Dis: Elizabeth Montgomery starred with character actor Henry Silva in the 1963 gangster flick Johnny Cool. Which is actually listed as a canonical Pat Pack movie, presumably because Sammy Davis Jr. and Joey Bishop have supporting roles and Peter Lawford is its executive producer.
