The Morning Report - 12/30/20 [J.J. Sefton]

fatchance.jpg

Good morning, kids. Wednesday and the penultimate day of 2020, which may very well go down in history as "Year Zero" depending upon what happens a week from now in Congress. More on that in a moment, but on the continuing idiocy of the kabuki/bukkake theater that is that body, Mitch McConnell has pulled one of his trademark cunning stunts by agreeing to raise the original $600 insult to the President's demand of $2,000, but only if the new bill includes the repeal of the Section 230 protections for Big Brother Tech.

Honestly, it's hard for me to get all excited about this; if Joe-Blow is/are installed and the Georgia Senate seats are also stolen (as I fear is a likely scenario), Section 230 protection for the Enemy Propaganda Complex will be reinstated as if it never went away in the first place. All this talk about 2022 and 2024 is as idiotic as the illusion of regular order, parliamentary procedure, comity and all that other rot. I mean, for fuck's sake; the judge in Georgia who blocked the purging of voter rolls in two counties is the sister of Tank Abrams. The litany of corruption in that state as well as the five others are well documented and show beyond any reasonable doubt that the 2020 election was indeed stolen. John Lott, who is the nation's foremost expert on gun crimes, 2A issues and an adviser to the DOJ just released a report that concludes up to 368,000 "excess votes" did indeed tip the scales for the Polident-Elect in the critical swing states:

"Increased fraud can take many forms: higher rates of filling out absentee ballots for people who hadn't voted, dead people voting, ineligible people voting, or even payments to legally registered people for their votes. [...] The estimates here indicate that there were 70,000 to 79,000 "excess" votes in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Adding Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin, the total increases to up to 289,000 excess votes," the summary notes.

Lott, who now serves as a Senior Adviser for Research and Statistics at the Office of Justice Programs, also adds that there are two reasons to even believe the aforementioned numbers are "underestimates":

1) the estimates using precinct level data assume that there is no fraud occurring with in-person voting and 2) the voter turnout estimates do not account for ballots for the opposing candidate that are lost, destroyed, or replaced with ballots filled out for the other candidate

Lott points to universal mail-in voting as a hotbed for fraud, remarking "unsecured absentee ballots create the potential that either fraudulent ballots will be introduced or votes to be destroyed."

This is on top of what we all saw happen in real time on election night, when the observers were kicked out of the tabulating centers, the doors and windows sealed and the pallets of ballots trucked in and, voila! As if the GOP state legislators and officials, did not see this coming. They did and yet still certified the electoral votes. Considering the character of most Republicans in the House and especially in the Senate mirrors that of the useless, spineless, corrupted jellyfish in the state legislatures in question, I am dreading next Wednesday like the plague (a real one, not the phony one foisted on us by the Chi-Coms and their Leftist agents in our own borders).

And for the third day in a row, all eyes turn to Vice President Pence. Edward Davis over at American Thinker argues that the GOPers in Congress should not contest the electors and leave the heavy lifting to the veep:

...opinion has long been divided on what the vice president is empowered to do in his vote-counting role. Ivan Raiklin is hardly alone in his argument. It should not surprise us. Constitutional law frequently is not black and white, as seen in the numerous 5-4 Supreme Court decisions by Justices applying the same law to the same facts.

In other words, Pence should go for it. He need only interpret "votes" as votes from states not in dispute, and count them accordingly. He could declare, "I will not count the Biden electors, or the competing slates of Trump electors, in disputed states where there is overwhelming credible evidence of systemic fraud." Thus would he restore the election win to President Trump, from whom it was audaciously stolen.

What would Pence have to lose? A commenter at Legal Insurrection observed:

Pence should refuse to count votes from the contested states, and dare someone to sue him in court. Then the SCOTUS can simply docket that for January 21, 2021. If the SCOTUS can't stop states from stealing elections, they damn well don't have the power to stop Pence from counting the votes any way he wants to.

One caveat: This has been a season in which everyone seems to be letting us down. Why expect Pence to be any different? The Washington Post reported, "Pence is hoping for a low-key Jan. 6 and is not planning any unnecessary drama, aides said, intending to stick to his perfunctory role. He is eyeing a trip overseas soon after."

But the Post report might be inaccurate, or this could be Trump disinformation intended to cause the opposition to let down their guard.

As for the mention of no "unnecessary drama" in Pence's plans, that doesn't rule out necessary drama. The Democratic election theft was bold and shocking. It calls for a bold, shocking correction.

As I have often stated, the more dire the situation, the more unassailable the logic, the more massive the evidence, the more clear the remedy, the more you can count on any given Republican to ignore it all and do exactly the wrong thing. So, the $62 trillion dollar question is, is Mike Pence any given Republican? With a nod towards the great Milton Friedman PBUH, will the weight of history compel the wrong man (or at best perhaps the unlikely man) to do the right thing?

The world wonders...
