The Morning Report - 12/17/20

vicorvanq.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday and the big story is the impending report from DNI John Ratcliffe as well as its implications for President Trump's final gambit - Congressional Republicans discarding the Democrat electors in the six swing states (plus New Mexico), recognizing the GOP alternates and thereby voting to restore his legitimate victory for another term. On the downside, there are a few moving parts for this whole thing to be put in motion, with the biggest problem being the human element. Either out of hatred for Trump and the desire to restore the Deep State status quo, fear of political and actual physical retribution or both, the collective backbone of several hundred Republicans is in serious doubt. Now that said, much like the womp rat-width exhaust port on the Death Star, it may be a one-in-a-million shot to vaporize it but as of right now it is a shot.

Perhaps that's why Mitch the surrender turtle shit his pants yesterday, flapping his goiterous turkey wattle that the party collectively recognize the Electoral College's decision and become accessories after the fact to the greatest crime in American history. From what I understand, all it takes is one Congressman and one Senator to object to the EC to start the procedural ball rolling, and we have over a hundred of the former and probably a good half dozen or so of the latter eager to tell Mitch to blow it out his Chinese finger trap.

Meanwhile, getting back to DNI Ratcliffe's report, it should be noted that it only covers one aspect of the election theft, that of foreign interference. No, not Russia buying $150,000 worth of anti-Hillary Facebook ads in 2016 but a coordinated effort involving China, Iran, Venezuela and perhaps Russia, and the compromised and rigged Dominion voting machines among other things. That alone should be enough to pull the emergency brake on the crazy train and reverse our headlong plunge into the abyss. The fly in the ointment, as has been the case for the past four years, is a Trump ally at the top of an agency relying on hundreds or even thousands of his underlings that in whole or part are firmly in the enemy camp and have been sabotaging this administration since day one. Given the proven infiltration of the Communist Chinese into our government, bureaucracies, as well as the proven bribery of some of our highest elected officials and their family members of same, the Ratcliffe report if done honestly would certainly implicate CIA, FBI, DoJ and a litany of other alphabet soup agencies that were supposed to secure our election systems from foreign interference. In the event, they more than likely aided and abetted it in 2020 if not 2016 and who knows how many other prior elections.

Additionally, we have this nugget from money honey Maria Bartiromo:

"An intel source told me President Trump did, in fact, win the election. He says that it is up to the Supreme Court to hear suits from other cases across the country to stop the clock. This follows the high court's refusal to hear the lawsuit from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton."

While all of us were ripping the Court over its refusal to hear that case because of standing issues, is it possible that they ditched it in order to get to the individual state suits? Honestly, at this point, who the hell knows or even cares. As per usual, we follow the rules while the Enemy does anything and everything to accrue and hold on to power. And that's giving the Court completely undeserved credit for being above the board and impartial in this. The steal is real. It happened. The evidence of all kinds is massive and incontestable. The six state legislatures should never have certified their votes and at a minimum not awarded any electors to the College. But they did. Texas' lawsuit should have at a minimum been heard and by all rights SCOUTS should've sided with the plaintiff and thrown out the fraudulent results. Yet here we are. We'll see what happens with Bartiromo's source vis a vis SCOTUS, but I'm not holding my breath.

Not to be defeatist, but we are going to have to prepare for the possibility of America as founded ceasing to exist at noon on January 20th, 2021. The question is, upwards of 200 million of us will essentially become dissidents in our own country, internally exiled like Andrei Sakharov and Natan Scharansky. So, as Christopher Roach at American Greatness ponders, what comes next?

The most workable model is less Ronald Reagan's GOP and something more like Poland's Solidarity movement in the 1980s. Even under Communism and the imposition of martial law, this grassroots trade union managed to resist the regime and convert the government's suppression into a high cost in international censure. Some of Solidarity's more important tactics included underground schools and workers' strikes.

What if we went on strike?

It is difficult to adjust to the reality that ordinary politics essentially are over. The signs of a slow-motion breakdown of the old system first appeared only as fragments: Supreme Court cases on controversial social questions, sustained government growth under both Republican and Democratic administrations, intelligence agencies meddling in an election, and the full-bore resistance by the bureaucracy to the Trump Administration. The real "mask off" moment has been the suspect election of 2020.

We have to face reality and fight the good fight effectively on the terrain on which we now find ourselves. That means changing our lifestyles and efforts in ways that achieve maximum personal independence, mutual support, and tangible results.

There is quite a good essay on the conditions in Chile that led to General Augusto Pinochet from Jay Schalin over at American Thinker. He concludes:

The Chilean coup of 1973 offers hard lessons that many will not accept because these lessons do not appeal to superficial norms of fairness and tolerance. For one, electoral politics do not always equate to human flourishing but can instead bring repression. For another, a nation must deal harshly with those who would deny liberty to the rest.

Of course, Pinochet had the entire armed forces and police of Chile behind him. We do not have that, not in its entirety. But I can dream, can't I? As always, keep the faith and keep your powder dry.
