The Morning Report - 12/14/20 [J.J. Sefton]

pascrelscum.jpg

Good morning, kids. Monday and today is the day that the Electoral College is supposed to convene and elect the next president. While what SCOTUS did on Friday in refusing to even hear the case (as the two justices who voted in favor of hearing the case, Alito and Thomas, have so far remained silent as to why) there is still a tiny flicker from a candle in a drafty room, but with an open jerry can full of 100 octane only a few tantalizing inches away.

The Texas suit, later joined by other states, against Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia, was a nice try, but it was always a long shot. Of course SCOTUS would be reluctant to grab so much power by ordering state legislatures to seat the right electors. Why? Because the power is already in the hands of the legislatures to do this...

...The undisputed states vote electorally on Dec. 14, and neither Biden nor Trump reaches 270, so neither one is the winner. The five GOP state legislatures (Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania) of the six disputed states (minus Nevada) say they need to postpone their electoral votes because they are investigating fraud and illegalities. The legislatures perform due diligence (they have been holding hearings to collect the evidence) and conclude that fraud and illegalities unilaterally hurt Trump and helped only Biden. Assuming that the Democrat Legislature in Nevada says everything was legitimate, each disputed GOP state may reach this conclusion on any day after Dec. 14 -- say, on Dec. 27 or even Jan. 15. Then they appoint electors who vote for the rightful winner: Trump (provided the GOP-selected electors do not suffer from TDS). These votes are added in to the votes cast on Dec. 14. Trump goes past 270 electoral votes. He wins!

However, what happens if the disputed states cannot select the electors, and neither Trump [nor] Biden reaches 270? Then it goes to the House of Representatives, and each state has one vote, and this one vote is determined by the political makeup of the state legislatures. The GOP controls 29 state legislatures, and the Democrats have 19 (two are split). Trump wins again.

Therefore, we don't need SCOTUS to win, and we never needed it.

While this rationale is nothing new, it does bear repeating. Unfortunately, the rubber meets the road when even the most clear cut and justified procedures come up against the reality of human weakness. Threats of violence and other depredations and persecution don't exactly help matters either. Aside from the BLM-tifa black-clad brownshirts, we have low scum in high places like this Cynthia Johnson from Michigan and now Congressthug Bill Pascrell (D)-Simone, calling for actual purges.

Following the Supreme Court's denial of the Texas lawsuit -- later joined by 17 states, New Jersey Democrat Rep. Bill Pascrell is demanding that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refuse to seat the 126 House Republicans who supported the Texas suit.

[Legal Insurrection] readers may recall Pascrell filing complaints against and trying to get lawyers representing President Trump disbarred.

Invoking the 14th Amendment regarding the disqualification from public office of anyone "engaged in insurrection or rebellion," Pascrell asserts that these Republicans committed "unbecoming acts that reflect poorly on our chamber" and as such should not be seated.

To no one's surprise, Pascrell's equally TDS-deranged fellow traveler and socialist "Squad" member Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar backs this ludicrous (and not a little ironic) demand that Representatives be barred from taking the office to which they were duly elected by voters in their districts.

It never ceases to amaze - and infuriate - me that the Enemy always accuses and blood libels us with the very things that they are guilty of. What Pascrell says is akin to the victim of a violent gang rape being told it was her fault for dressing provocatively while walking in a neighborhood she was warned to avoid. These people are playing with fire. Whatever happens comes January 20th, 2021, there are 80 million of us who voted for President Trump, and probably upwards of at least double that who support him and/or do not want whatever is left of this republic to be wiped out. We are not going anywhere. And we are enraged. When people like Allen West are now openly talking about secession, it would behoove Pascrell et al to shut their cake holes long enough to contemplate their words and deeds. Considering who and what they are, I think that that is a non-starter.

Even in the face of disaster, Trump supporters still rallied in DC, and got beaten up and knifed for their troubles, while in a not unrelated story the owners of gyms in both New Jersey and Washington state are racking up fines exceeding $1 million because they dared defy their tyrannical governors' decrees and remain open for business. This madness cannot go on. We are facing the abyss and something has got to be done. If not, then for sure all bets are off.
