This is Dhabi. As a little puppy he was rescued from a desert workers camp in Abu Dhabi. The first time he ever saw grass was when arrived in Tennessee - he loved it. Abu is Arabic for "good or great." Dhabi means "gazelle." He certainly runs like one. - Tim

Hmmm an interesting story. I wish there was more. I suspect he also enjoys the cooler weather in TN. Thanks for sharing Dhabi with us.

Well "the boys" (Bingo and Eli) are putting up with another move, this year. We finally found everyone's "forever home"! They still enjoy their doggy car seats for the 500 mile drives between houses but are glad to be done! Here they are enjoying the new couch in the new house.

Thanks for your Pet Thread and letting us share adventures with you. - South Dakota lurker.

What an adorable pair of pups. So do they need a ramp to become couch potatoes? Thanks for lurking and coming out to share this story with us.

From JohnFNotKerry:

Red is a very good boy who is over 12 years old. He is a retired autism service dog for our son, and he is enjoying his golden years as our family dog. He is a "German Retriever", being half German Shepherd and half Golden Retriever. He and his siblings were bred to be service dogs. Sadly, he is the last one who is still alive.

Mika is our 4 year old cat, who we got after our first cat Sneaker passed away in 2016. He was featured here many years ago. Mika is obsessed with food, and she would be a major chonk if we I indulged her more. She is very affectionate and talkative, bringing lots of laughter to our home.

Red must be one very sweet dog since he was a service animal. Mika is the perfect example of a pet, one who brings joy to your world. Sweet critters you have there. What a wonderful contribution today.

This picture is from back in 2004. This is Noodle and Banjo on a camping trip. Noodle is a white Anatolian Shepherd Dog who weighed in at about 120 lbs. We got her from an awesome breeder out of NC. She was a wedding gift to my wife and me. Anatolians are bred to sit in fields by themselves and guard goats from wolves in Turkey. They are bred to be on their own and think for themselves. As a result, Anatolians are absurdly stubborn dogs when it comes to training. We had some heated training sessions but she turned into the greatest dog to ever walk the planet. So calm, so sweet and great off leash even though Anatolians are supposed to be nearly impossible to train off leash. She never strayed far and always came back when called. Whatever their stubbornness, the upside to Anatolian's personalities is that they are extremely loyal. That she was. We lost her at 10 years old to cancer.

Little Banjo in the picture is an Australian Cattle Dog. He's about 5 months old in this pic. The reason I'm sending this now is that we just recently lost him after over 15 years. He might be the second best dog ever after Noodle. Unlike Noodle who came from an excellent breeder, we paid $50 for Banjo. Cattle dogs can be obnoxious bastards and he certainly was but he was also the smartest and most loyal guy you'll meet. Noodle and Banjo were the best of buds. RIP Noodle and Banjo. - Andrew

What an outstanding photo! I hope that you have it enlarged, frame and displayed in your home. So sorry that both of your pals have passed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Hi MisHum,

Here is a pic of our 1+ yr. old White German Shephard, Maggie, doing her favorite thing - fetching a tennis ball in the water. She was a natural at swimming and maybe a reincarnation of Esther Williams. Just have to teach her to dive now.

She has kind of an interesting history - the breeder sold her and brother at 8 wks. to a skeevy couple who reneged on payment. She called FBI and after a few months, FBI found her because white shepherds aren't very common and was parked at some doggie resort in CA. Apparently skeevy couple was wanted for fraud from a number of other scams. Maggie came to us at 8 mths and after working out some behavior and medical kinks, she's a wonderful dog. - Last

Long time lurker, Crash from Bama here. This crew is a result of my kids. Agrippa is the Rhodesian Ridgeback. 100 pounds but wants to sit in your lap. Dixie ( can I say that? ) is the mutt closest in the pic. Gentlest dog ever unless a rodent gets in our yard. The retriever mix preening for the camera is Zeus. Barks a lot but won't leave my side. The small black one is Ophelia. She wants to stay outside 24/7. The bed gets awful crowded at night.

Yes, you may say Dixie here. Great group of pooches you have there. And no, the meme above the fold was not based upon your herd of doggehs.
