Trump Speaking Now »
August 27, 2020
Final Night of the Republican National Convention
The convention will run for 2 1/2 instead of 2 hours tonight, finishing at around 11 pm.
Trump will of course close the night with a speech.
Other speakers:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy
Ivanka Trump
Rudy Giuliani
Ben Carson
Rep. Jeff Van Drew, the New Jersey representative who flipped from D to R
Ann Dorn, widow of antifa/BLM victim David Dorn
Also some others. Also, Dana White, president of the UFC.
Whenever I think about boycotting sports, I always want to recommend people check out the UFC. It's a well-run and clean league -- there has never been any whisper of corruption.
It takes some time to understand the basics of MMA fighting so as to appreciate them, as with any sport, but it's worth it.
The fighters are largely non-criminals and seem like good people. They don't even trash talk their opponents much, if at all. A lot of mutual praise.
I think a lot of that is Guidance from Above -- following the rules of public comportment of the UFC corporation -- but, still: That's what a lot of people want to see.
Where to watch:
The Republican Party's live feed is here on YouTube as well as on FaceBook.
CSPAN.
Fox.
And PBS, which I hear does a good job.
Also, we're paying for it anyway.
The neoliberalcorporate culture warriors of Fox News will of course bring their murderer's row of leftwingers, Bushies, Steve Hayes cronies, and angry fat old men to cover it, plus Brit Hume, to give the affair a sprinkle of credibility:
