The Morning Report - 7/30/20

Good morning, kids. Thursday and as society continues to crumble around us the top story is yesterday's House hearing on Big Brother Tech's monopoly on internet communications, and specifically censorship of political views that its Mandarins - very much pun intended - disapprove.

The links and precis speak for themselves but there were a couple of highlights. One came out of the blue and it knocked odious toad Jamie Raskin on his sagging ass:

... After Jordan finished his questioning, Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) called his concerns "fringe conspiracy theories."

Jordan responded, "We have the email, there is no fringe conspiracy," in reference to an email by a Google employee discussing steps they had taken to boost Latino voter turnout in "key states" in 2016.

Subcommittee Chairman David Cicilline (D-RI) then began scolding Jordan for interrupting during Scanlon's time to speak. Raskin then yelled to Jordan, "Put your mask on."

Jordan fired back: "Mr. Raskin, you want to talk about masks? Why would the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury unmask Michael Flynn's name?"

Jordan was referring to Raskin's wife, Sarah Bloom Raskin, who was one of the Obama appointees who requested the unmasking of Flynn, who was the incoming national security adviser at the time...

Boom.

I like Jim Jordan. A lot. That said, Tucker Carlson had him on his show and asked him a question that at first glance does tend to raise an eyebrow.

..."It seems very difficult for any candidate or party to win anything if all the information about the race is controlled by people who are working for the other side, which is where we are now," Carlson said. "Let me ask you, Jim Sensenbrenner has taken money from Google, Google is your second-biggest campaign contributor in the last cycle, why do you think they would give you money? And why would you take it?"

"Look, if they want to exercise their First Amendment liberties and give me money, I raised $3 million last quarter, if Google gives me a few thousand-dollar check, G-d bless them," Jordan responded. "That doesn't change who I am. You saw that today in the committee, I went after them for the very issue you just raised..."

In any case the mega-trillion dollar/multi-megaton eggroll in the room here is China. What the Soviets did from the 1920s almost to the fall of the Berlin Wall in terms of infiltrating every aspect of American society to bring it down from within I think pales in comparison to what the Chi-Coms have done in just the last 20. Well, the Soviets laid the groundwork, but Chi-Com lucre speaks in a language all its own in terms of bribing all-too-willing politicians and corporate execs. Then there's the spying, the Confucius Institutes on our campuses that pour gasoline on the already raging inferno of anti-Americanism. Not to mention the Chinese Coronavirus they unleashed on us. The harm caused by the disease itself is negligible at worst. Leftist politicians and bureaucrats using it as pretext to seize emergency powers and then strangle our economy and personal freedoms all in the name of destroying the President and all of us who put him in office is another matter entirely.

While our cities burn because of another propaganda meme, it would not surprise me in the least to learn that the Chi-Coms are also helping to finance the mayhem, along with the usual suspects of the admitted Nazi collaborator kind. Circling back to Google, it is that evil entity which played a huge role in developing so-called "social credit" software and apps that can allow Xi and his underlings to control a billion people. And that is coming to a city and town near you if it isn't here already. In fact, it's already here, especially when you consider the cultural revolutionaries purging people from their jobs merely for voicing concern or opposition to BLM, or for doctors who know the truth about HCQ as a true magic bullet to both heal and prevent Peking Pox, and so on.

Yet, the Chi-Coms are only as effective as our domestic enemies allow them to be. They are not fellow citizens because they have denounced and betrayed our country and are now openly trying to overthrow it - all while play-acting the role of victims, underdogs, the oppressed and, most egregiously, the defenders of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. That is truly the most hateful thing to me. YMMV.
