Michigan Judge Rebukes Transexual Governor "Gretchen" Whitmer and "Her" Fascist AG, Telling Them the Barber Has the Right to Remain Open

Update: You don't say, Genius?

Stay-at-home orders intended to curb the spread of the coronavirus could end up causing “irreparable damage” if imposed for too long, White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNBC on Friday.

“I don’t want people to think that any of us feel that staying locked down for a prolonged period of time is the way to go,” Fauci said during an interview with CNBC’s Meg Tirrell on “Halftime Report.”

He said the U.S. had to institute severe measures because Covid-19 cases were exploding then. “But now is the time, depending upon where you are and what your situation is, to begin to seriously look at reopening the economy, reopening the country to try to get back to some degree of normal.”

Are you fucking kidding me right now.

...

The judge refused to grant the AG's motion to force the closure of the barber shop, which means he's free to continue trimming hair.

Michigan Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun had argued in an affidavit that Manke's shop was a threat to public health, but Stewart said not enough evidence was shown to prove that.

"The attorney general has not presented any studies underlying the doctor's conclusion,” Stewart wrote in his opinion. "The attorney general has not shown any nexus between the cutting of hair and an increased risk of transmission. The attorney general's filings rest more on general facts about COVID-19 than specific practices or conditions at Manke's business."

...

Nessel [the fascist AG] personally attacked Manke last week, questioning his motives for wanting to open his barbershop.

"Mr. Manke, he's not a hero to me," Nessel said. "He's not a patriot. A patriot is a person that fights all enemies, foreign and domestic, and does everything possible to protect his fellow countrymen and countrywomen. And, to me, Mr. Manke is doing just the opposite of that, and he's being selfish in his behavior in that what he's doing is allowing the virus to spread."

...

"The government is not my mother," the barber said to hundreds of anti-lockdown protesters in front of the Michigan state Capitol in Lansing last week. "Never has been. I've been in business longer than they've been alive."

Clips of those statements at the link.

Freedom is on the bloom in Ohio as well -- there, a judge has blocked the fascist Republican DeWine's Nazi health minister from shutting down all gyms, even as she claims "absolute authority" to do so based on a 1908 edict scribbled down during a panic over tuberculosis.

In a scathing nine-page decision, Lake County Common Pleas Judge Eugene A. Lucci excoriated Acton and her health department for exceeding their authority, saying the director "has no statutory authority to close all businesses, including the plaintiffs' gyms." Acton, the judge said, "has acted in an impermissibly arbitrary, and oppressive manner and without any procedural safeguards."

Judge Lucci went on to say that fundamental liberties--the right to own and use property and earn a living--are at stake in this case. Acton has "criminalized lawful businesses, imposing strict liability for violations, including severe criminal, civil, and equitable penalties," the judge opined, noting that "some of the plaintiffs' businesses will not survive the lockdown of two or more months."

...

Members of the Ohio legislature have been up in arms in recent weeks, calling for Acton to be stripped of her unchecked power--and rightly so, as Ohioans continue to suffer under the weight of the lockdown orders, which have devastated families, business owners, and the state's economy. Ohio has nearly a million jobs in the last two months.

A measure currently under consideration in the Ohio Senate (and already passed by the House) would limit Acton’s shutdown orders to 14 days and require her to consult a joint legislative commission if she wishes to extend such an order.

Ohio Governor DeWine, heady with power, has vowed to veto the bill if it lands on his desk.

Judge Lucci seemed to disagree, saying that if he failed to issue an injunction, "There would be a diminishment of public morale, and a feeling that one unelected individual could exercise such unfettered power to force everyone to obey impermissibly oppressive, vague, arbitrary and unreasonable rules that the director devised and revised, and modified and reversed, whenever and as she pleases, without any legislative guidance."

"The public would be left with feelings that their government is not accountable to them," Lucci warned.

Oh, would they?

What a crazy feeling. Only crazy people would feel such crazy feelings.
