A commenter on yesterday's art:
363 Guessing what you find fascinating in a poor copy of a painting is a game I'd rather not play. There is not that much to it. Just tell us already.
His other works are better examples of light and volume and simple geometry.
Every other copy of this painting is better than this one. You picked the worst possible copy. Why did you choose such a lousy copy?

And yet here you are with an ignorant comment about the art. Did you bother to check the National Gallery of Denmark where the work is housed and take a look at their on-line version? No, because then you would have seen that the one I chose is true to that.
Perhaps you are unaware that there are programs that will manipulate digital images, and some on-line art is tweaked to brighten it or make the colors pop, but those versions...the ones that you think are superior...don't represent the original. Or is it that you know the artist's intent and have some insight into his mindset?
