Tara Reade Has Sat for an On-Camera Interview With Megan Kelly
I'd like to point out that Reade has previously given an on-camera interview to Krystal Ball at Morning Rising, and an audio interview to Katie Halper.
This is being hyped as something new just because Megan Kelly is a bigger name.
I think most of us are all done with Brand Names and giving people extra respect just because they're on TV, or used to be.
But anyway, here's the report.
Megyn Kelly announced on Thursday she will be interviewing Tara Reade, who has accused former Vice President Joe Biden of sexual assault, promising the exclusive sit-down will offer "a ton of news."
"MK EXCLUSIVE: Former Biden staffer #TaraReade, who accuses FMR VP #JoeBiden of sexually assaulting her in 1993, sits down w/me in her first on-camera interview since Mr. Biden denied her accusations. Her story & some tough Q's in a riveting exchange. A ton of news coming," Kelly wrote to her more than 2 million followers on Twitter.
"She gets very candid, very emotional, and handles many direct challenges to her account. She also has a message directly for the former vice president," Kelly told The Hill when contacted later on Thursday.
Bits and pieces are being leaked before the full interview will be aired.
First leak: Reade calls on her assailant to drop out of the presidential race.
In her first televised interview since Biden publicly denied the allegations, Reade told journalist Megyn Kelly that she believes Biden should end his campaign.
"I wish he would, but he won't," Reade said. "But I wish he would. That's how I feel emotionally."
Reade said she thinks it’s "a little late for an apology," but that if she were able to confront Biden face-to-face she would tell him to “be accountable" for his actions.
"I want to say, you and I were there, Joe Biden. Please step forward and be held accountable," Reade said. “You should not be running on character for president of the United States.”
