Recreational use is one thing...if my Seder had been bombed by some ass with a pron clip or some obscenities we would have been irritated but essentially whole. But when national security issues are discussed by a House subcommittee that is an entirely different thing...
Jim Jordan calls for a halt on using Zoom for House Oversight Committee business due to cybersecurity and China concerns
“[I]n spite of the warnings by the FBI and media outlets, on April 3, 2020, you held a Zoom-hosted Member briefing on women’s rights in Afghanistan with the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR).12 During this important briefing, the session was ‘Zoom-bombed’ at least three times. The impact of hacking and malware on Member and staff devices is still being determined.”
That the chairman was aware of potential security issues yet continued to use the system is shocking, even for our profoundly stupid Congress. My hope is that the Republicans exploit every connection to China (however tenuous) for political gain. Maloney should be vilified for jeopardizing our national security, and she should be dragged through the mud for whatever Chinese links can be found.
Unfortunately some Republicans are probably in bed with the Chi-Coms too, but nailing them might not be such a bad thing.
