Andrew Gillum Didn't Practice "Social Distancing" In That Hotel Room But I Don't See Any of the Twitter Shaming Brigades Mentioning His Risky Behavior
I thought El Kabong's point earlier was good: The people who are the most panicky, shrieky, scoldy, and shamey about the need of people to quarantine themselves are already practicing self-quarantining as a lifestyle choice, so it's pretty easy for them to say "Just sit inside all day and read twitter and order GrubHub four times a day like I've been doing for 15 years and plan to do until I drop dead from complications due to a severe sedentary lifestyle!"
It's not that I disagree with the usefulness of "social distancing" -- I just don't like seeing Twitter turn into what it always turns into, virtue signalling and shame-brigading for social cachet.
And man, if you look at Twitter right now -- especially the accounts of the lefties who want to control you and the pseudorighties who want to show their leftwing Twitter palz how Reasonable and Polite they are (and who really, really want to panic Trump out of office) -- everyone is at the highest possible level of screechy sanctimony, posting pictures of people who dare to go out to bars and essentially calling them Witches.
If your shrieking hasn't gotten to them yet -- hey, sorry to shatter your ego, but maybe they just don't follow your Twitter account, Future Nobel Laureates.
It's never been clear to me-- What exactly do you win when you compete in the Conspicuous Social Conscientiousness Twitter Olympics?
Just those sweet sweet farts that smell like Christmas trees and butter cookies?
But meanwhile, Andrew Gillum completely ignores all advice about social distancing and the lefties and the Reasonable Pseudoconservatives don't have any interest in shaming him.
I wonder why!
By the way:
This Blue Checkmark Genius does know that the "Doctor" in Doctor Drew's handle isn't just a self-dubbed blogger handle, right? He is a medical doctor -- I realize that doesn't hold a candle to the expertise and knowledge of a Brooklynite Millennial with the Twitter Blue Checkmark of Brilliance, but still, it's something.
Bonus: Remember one of the Viral Twitter Panics we had just before Christmas 2019, when all the moral busybodies went into yet another neurotic spiral over Peloton's advertisment, suggesting a husband might want to give a wife an indoor bike?
All sorts of moral panics arose over that, about sexism and body-shaming and disputing the peer-reviewed medical conclusion that people (particularly neurotic women) are Healthy At Any Size.
Well:
Via Tami. One update though -- she's not the actress involved in that ad. She's just goofing around.
