Answer: No, of course not. And this is why they oppose Trump.

Although they talk about "principles" and "virtue" and "civility" and even "Christianity," all of these are smokescreens -- they use these words to attract conservatives to their cause, because they know they can't expect conservatives to join their actual cause, if they admit it.

Their cause is open borders. Always has been.

When they say Trump is degrading our democracy, they mean: Trump is thwarting our schemes for a de facto imposition of open borders.

When they talk about their principles, they mean: Trump is short-circuiting our plan to never permit the public to weigh in on our de facto open borders plan.

They they talk about racism and xenophobia, they mean: Borders are racist and xenophobic and so are you, bumpkin racist. That's why we have to covertly guide your opinions and limit the options you will be permitted to vote for in elections. We're doing it for your own bumpkin-racist good.

They talk and talk and talk about a lot of different things instead of the one thing actually animating them.

Because they're liars and always have been. And their schemes have never involved honestly advocating their agenda to the public -- they can't trust the Plebes to recognize how smart and wonderful their plans are -- but always instead claiming to be vaguely in favor of ineffectual-by-design border security efforts ("virtual fences," as Rudy Giuliani began misleading in 2008, for example, which is a euphemism for "no fences") instead of just stopping illegals at the border and kicking them out when they're found to have broken the law.

They continue taking money from Pierre Omidyar to find exciting new ways to Con the Rubes, and convince them that this has nothing to do with open borders -- it's just that you're a racist if you don't support de facto open borders, with minimal-to-non-existent border enforcement and no deportations for any illegals.

And amnesty! Lots and lots of amnesty.

They can't say this, so instead, it's nonstop "principles" and "tweets" and "Christian values" and every euphemism and evasion and elision their crafty little liar brains can confabulate.

President Trump on Thursday said the government will begin holding back funds for sanctuary cities -- like New York -- following a federal appeals court decision last month.

"As per recent Federal Court ruling, the Federal Government will be withholding funds from Sanctuary Cities," Trump tweeted. "They should change their status and go non-Sanctuary. Do not protect criminals!"

The US Court of Appeals in Manhattan ruled on Feb. 26 that the government can withhold millions in dollars in law enforcement grants to cities and states that do not give US Immigration and Customs Enforcement access to jails and alert the agency when an illegal immigrant is being released.

The decision overturned a lower court ruling ordering the administration to release the funds.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has begun 24-hour daily surveillance operations near the homes and workplaces of undocumented immigrants in sanctuary cities across the country, according to an exclusive New York Times report.

A senior official with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told reporters in February that ICE would be deploying Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers to "enhance integrity of the immigration system, protect public safety, and strengthen our national security."

In the same email, the agents were ordered to "flood the streets" and arrest as many undocumented immigrants as possible.

The candidate all the NeverTrumpers are claiming is a "moderate" that we must all get behind -- for reasons of "principles" and "Christian virtue" and so on -- just called for a deportation moratorium.

And has denounced all of his previous support for deportatation.

And they, of course, support Joe Biden in this.

But oh -- this isn't about open borders at all! It's all just a coincidence.
