Get Woke, Go Broke: "Patriarchy-Fighting" Movie "Birds of Prey" Is the Latest Feminist Identity Politics Bomb;
Oscar Ratings Drop 20% to Hit New Low

Before getting to that:#NotMyDoctor -- also known as "Doctor Who Cares" -- once again hit a ratings low.

Check out these overnight UK ratings -- and bear in mind, this season began with a huge ratings drop from last year (and ratings declined all last year, too).

Part of the reason they brought this Imposter Female Doctor in was because the ratings in the last season with a real Doctor -- albeit an increasingly tediously PC doctor, always nattering on about women were superior to men -- hit the low level of 3.88 million.

And now? 3.81 million and we haven't found the bottom quite yet.

Before this season started, Gary Beuchler at Nerdrotic reported rumors emanating from someone connected with the show that the leftwing Identitarians at the BBC intended a new identity politics stunt: To shut up all the "man babies" complaining about the transexual timelord (didn't we already have one of those in Frank N. Furter?), the BBC would reveal that the Doctor had always been a woman, or, at least, had been a woman in xis original form.

Nerdrotic kept saying he didn't want that rumor to be true, but it's what he was hearing.

Was it true? Well... yes. With an added twist.

We don't know yet that this is the original form of the Doctor, but it must be an early version (some speculate this is a previously unknown regeneration between the first and second doctors).

The BBC went above and beyond the call of duty on this Identity Politics play. Not content to just say "If you don't like our horrible show, you must hate women," they cast a black woman as the hitherto never-even-hinted-at Lost Regeneration so that they can say, "If you don't like our horrible, terrible Magic Schoolbus lecture-fest, it's because you hate both women and

Showrunners have already clarified that this isn't any kind of "trick;" this isn't an illusion, or a clone, or an alternate version of The Doctor. This is the real doctor, they've told us.

Viewers are beyond exasperated with the constant PC changes to the show's canon.

Many viewers slammed the move as one driven first and foremost by political correctness, a recurring critique since Whittaker was cast in the titular role.

"Doctor Who has got progressively worse since Matt Smith left, it's like being back in the 1980's... this time killed by PC goody-goodies, woke BS and awful storylines," one disgruntled viewer fumed.

"Chris Chibnall messing with cannon and being more interested during his time on the show in checking PC boxes is well beyond tiresome," a second chimed in.

A third moaned: "Idiots, this is why Doctor Who is dying, changing the cannon because of PC wokeness."

Comics Matter has pointed out that SJWs are keenly interested in changing a show's canon -- its previous lore and rules -- because they're not actually creators, they're simply cultural warriors who want to take this and that hill from the enemy -- Straight White Men, traditionalists, and Christians. He mentioned one SJW exulting on Twitter that he created the first "canon" version of a particular character who was black and gay.

He had nothing to say about the story being good or the character being interesting, because she wasn't. It was a straight reskin of an old character.

But he was crowing on Twitter that he had taken canon away from his enemies.

Destroying previous canon is a deliberate type of cultural vandalism -- the work may continue to exist, but it will be forever marred by SJW grafitti.

If the BBC thought its latest identity politics swap would rescue the show, they were wrong. The Newly Revealed Strong Black Female Doctor was revealed in episode 5, an episode that got a slight bump in the ratings due to bringing back a fan-favorite character for a guest appearance. But after that, ratings dropped again.

The DC comic movie Birds of Prey, which has constantly been promoted by its stars and Warner Brothers as a fiercely feminist movie that fights "everyday sexism" and will "defeat the male gaze" -- and which had as its director a woman who had directed exactly one (1) micro-budgeted movie, barely more than a student film, which had made $60,000 in its limited theatrical release (that's right, sixty thousand) -- has unexpectedly become the next #Woke disaster.

Margot Robbie’s latest will earn roughly $33 million when all the receipts are tallied tomorrow.

That’s a tragic number for multiple reasons.

Get Woke, Go …

The actual film isn't the Lecture-Palooza some, including this critic, feared. Still, the framing of the film's release couldn’t be woker. Co-star Ewan McGregor praised the film’s feminist roots, saying it’s a blow against the "patriarchy." The film’s stars extolled how many women were working in front of and behind the camera.

Gender progress is wonderful, but we’ve seen these woke campaigns crash and burn before.

I've heard other people say the movie isn't as bad with the #Woke feminist politics as they had feared, but Grace Randolf -- herself an SJW -- complained that every single male character in the movie was either a pervert, a creeper, a beater, or a serial killer of women. I think she said that one single male character, who was only on the screen for 30 seconds, was acknowledged by one of the Strong Female Leads as being a "good man."

The rest of the men were abusers and serial killers who cut women's faces off their heads.

So I don't know who's right about how PC it is. I figure, if every single male character is some kind of predator, rapist, or killer, you don't have to have any speeches about All Men Bad. The movie communicates that without explicit speechifying.

Last year, the Oscars earned 29.6 million viewers, a bit of an increase over the 2018's disastrous 26.5 million, which was also the previous record holder for all-time low Oscar ratings.

This Sunday, only 23.6 million tuned in. That’s a jaw-dropping 20 percent dive over last year, and an 11 percent dive from the previous all-time low.

Whenever I mention this stuff to people who don't follow these stories, they always ask, "When are they finally going to get it through their heads that they will literally go bankrupt if they keep churning out this Identity Politics bullshit?"

Well, it takes a few years for a Hollywood film to get made after being greenlit and financed, so it might have taken a few years for Hollywood to realize that Fake Ghostbusters wasn't a one-off, and that this type of movie is just not wanted by the public.

So it could be that Birds of Prey might be one of the last movies from Hollywood's Age of Woke.

But then, Warner Brothers aggressively marketed Birds of Prey as a feminist strike against "the patriarchy" -- and that marketing campaign was only conceived of and executed last year.

So have they learned any lessons? Will they ever?

Spoiler: No, they won't. If this story is any indicator.

According to a report from The Sun, a new Willy Wonka movie is currently in development—a prequel that will tell the story of how he made his fortune as a chocolatier and how he met the Oompa Loompas.

No one has really asked for this story, but okay, sure.

Unfortunately, the studio that's on the verge of bringing Willy Wonka back to the big screen, Warner Bros., is reportedly considering a woman for the lead role as Willy Wonka.

Comics Matter was right -- they really do like messing with canon. They can't create their own popular properties, so they'll just take yours and transform it into a vehicle for woke messaging.

And if that winds up destroying the property? Good.

And even if it limps on -- it will be forever defaced by barbarian SJW vandals.
