"The media is gaslighting the country about anti-semitism in New York"

So reports John Sexton, documenting the media's efforts to pretend away the real problem -- unpalatable to liberals -- that antisemtic attacks are being carried out by a precious Democrat Client Group, largely urban blacks, and not the only permissible villain, White Christian Men With Red Hats.

The machete-wielding terrorist who attacked the congregants in the rabbi's house has connections to the Black "Hebrew Israelites." You know, the same racist, antisemtic group that taunted the Covington Kids, and the same people to which one of the Jersey City shooters was connected to.

Did you hear that? I didn't until today, listening to the fill-in host for Rush Limbaugh.

The media doesn't really want anyone to know that.

They'd rather blame the Bad Orange Man.

According to reports published Monday, Grafton Thomas, the man who attacked and wounded Jews celebrating Hanukkah inside a Rabbi’s private home Saturday, has a history of mental illness and no connections to any hate groups. That’s coming from Thomas’s lawyer and family so they have a clear motive for offering excuses for his behavior. But the NY Times reports that Thomas seems to have been interested in Hitler and may have had a connection to the Black Hebrew Israelites...

The fill-in host on Limbaugh said that the New York Times only mentioned the Black "Hebrew Israelites" connection in the last four paragraphs of a story he estimated to consist of 36-40 paragraphs. The Times was much more interested in the "looked up Hitler online" angle, something they could use to tie into their White Supremacists of Color narrative, than his affiliation with a known violent extremist hate group.

And by the way: Black and Muslim antisemites are big fans of Hitler. This doesn't help the White Supremacists of Color narrative any.

Unbelievably, the Daily Beast published an article attempting to justify leftwing antisemitic violence.

He argues that leftwing antisemitism is learned from rightwing antisemites (which rightwingers is Louie Farrakhan reading, I wonder) and furthermore, it's more acceptable and less blameworthy because it's based on real economics, not the crazy conspiracy theories pushed by those evil rightwingers.

I mean, apart from the crazy conspiracy theory that is the Black "Hebrew Israelites'" central claim, that they are the real Jews and the "Jews" usually called "Jews" are really just usurpers who stole the real Jews' identity, in order to make money and rule the world.

That's what they literally believe: that the "so-called Jews" (as they always call actual Jews) committed racial identity theft on the real Hebrew Israelites, and stole their birthright.

Again: Which rightwinger did they get that notion from?

The answer is not simple. The recent street violence and acts of terror are based, in part, on anti-Semitic conspiracy theories similar to those on the Right. And yet, it is dangerous and misleading to see this as the same phenomenon, because the social contexts, the dynamics of race, and the relationships to power are all quite different.

This combination of baseless hatred and socio-economic grievance stands in stark contrast to the wordy theoretical manifestoes of white supremacist anti-Semitism.

"Stark contrast." The left's version of antisemitism is just morally superior to the Nazis, even if, you know, black antisemites are fans of the Nazis.

By the way: the Nazis were also motivated by baseless conspiracy theories and economic grievance. They blamed the Jews for all of their own economic ills.

Um, in what way is this a superior foundation to base antisemitism on?

Seems like the same old Nazi shit, just with a United Colors of Benetton makeover.

And while some attackers cite conspiracy theories similar to the ones on the nationalist right, such as the Black Hebrew Israelite doctrines noted above, the social contexts and relationships to power are utterly different.

What he means is: Poltiical violence is different -- more justified -- if you're "punching up" at an Oppressor Class, which he's saying the Jews (or "so-called Jews," for the Black Hebrew Israelites) are.

According to the Daily Beast, at least.

They deserve it.

And in terms of scale, there is simply no comparison between right-wing anti-Semitism, which arguably stretches into the White House itself (if not Trump, then some of his recent advisers), and the fringe sects, street violence, and bigotry found among small segments of the African-American community.

Um, except that most actual attacks on Jews are in fact committed by groups associated with the left.

And if you think that's just a one-off, no, someone identifying herself as a "columnist" for a tech website also opined that, let's face it, Jews have some of this coming.

She straight-up says these attacks are different, because of Jews' "participation in the ruling class."

Now, as the media tries to shift responsibility to the victims of antisemitic murder in this case, they're also doing that in the case of the church shooter as well -- looking into the possibility that maybe the town of White Settlement kind of deserved retribution because of the history of the town's name.

While the media claims that Trump and Republicans are giving secret OK-sign signals to their rightwing goons that it's okay to murder Jews and beat people on the street, the Enemy of the People media actually is giving such signals to their more deranged political brethren, and not through "secret" signals -- they're straight up justifying leftist attacks on innocent civilians.

Just as they've constantly defended and justified antifa's attacks.

One of the saddest spectacles of the past two weeks is Walking Worm Seth Mandel begging his very good liberal media and twitter friends to unambiguously call out and condemn the actual violence here, rather than euphemizing, excusing, justifying, and deflecting with their Orange Man Bad catch-all gibbdrish.

He has been whining and pleading for two weeks for his very good liberal twitter and media friends to do this. He often points out that he himself gets head-pats from liberals for calling out (sometimes wrongly) those on the right who push antisemtism.

And he thinks he should get some reciprocation.

Instead, his very good liberal and media friends keep telling him the same thing: Shut up, Jew. Know your place in the pecking order.

"A couple of dozen dead Jews and a couple of more with permanent brain damage due to random street-beatings is a small price to pay for Democrat Party Unity."

"Get with the program and just start lying, claiming that Black Hebrew Israelites are obviously big Donald Trump supporters and probably Mark Levin listeners, too.

"That will not solve the problem of an escalating pogrom against Jews, but that's a minor problem we don't care about. It will solve the important problem of maintaining the official Democrat-Media Narrative and promoting Democrat-Media fictions like 'black people can never be racist or antisemitic, because of Intersectional "Punching Up" theory.' "

It's amazing to me that Seth Mandel watched his very good liberal media and twitter friends justify and promote antifa's attacks on innocent civilians, but thought... they'd suddenly stop advocating violence against their enemies because a Democrat Client Group was affected?

I mean, I get that, sort of. But you'd have to be an absolute idiot to not realize that the Democrat Party no longer considers Jews to be a persecuted party in need of defending, but an Oppressor Class in need of beating.

Oh My: I just saw this -- Joe Scarborough quotes Al Sharpton, who sparked the riots against the Jewish-owned Freddie Fashion Mart in the 90s -- as an authoritative voice on condeming antisemetic attacks.

Important Point: A lot of lefties are claiming it's "racist" to say that there is a problem in the black community regarding hatred of Jews, because that blames "all blacks." Which is racist.

But of course no one's blaming "all blacks." But yeah, if there is a problem in a community, then that particular problem has to be addressed.

Maybe the left thinks that when you note a problem with racism/antisemitism in a group, you're blaming the whole group, because they know that was/is their actual intent in blaming all racism and antisemitism on Republicans, white people (except for the good liberal saviors), and Christians."

An actual solution to the problem would be to increase police presence in Jewish neighborhoods and to start gathering intelligence about hate-preachers in black neighborhoods.

And maybe start -- gasp! -- infiltrating the known violent extremist hate group, the Black Hebrew Israelites.

Instead, the Democrats and the media want to pretend the problem of black antisemitism "emanates" from the Oval Office.

That won't save any lives, of course, but it might save the only thing that matters: Democrat electoral prospects.

This article at the Forward is good, and notes that no, this isn't about all blacks, but it is necessary to admit it's about some blacks.

Of course, there was a certain relief at having the physical attacks against us recognized: Finally, the mainstream media and even liberal and left-wing politicians and activists were speaking up about the violence against us after such a lengthy, inexplicable silence. Some argued that it took so long to speak up about these anti-Semitic attacks because the majority of the perpetrators were not white supremacists but African Americans -- members of a community that is itself marginalized and frequently under attack.

That may be true. But if it is, it's upsetting, not only because it erased our suffering but because of the racist underpinnings of such a view. After all, it was hardly the African American community in its entirety that was committing or even supporting these acts. They were committed by individuals, often young and sometimes mentally ill individuals. And though there was precious little by way of condemnation, it wasn't like these acts of violence and vandalism were supported by our African American neighbors.

Indeed, in its newfound voice addressing these attacks, the left landed on a narrative that is almost as upsetting as their silence was: casting the attacks as a symptom of underlying tensions between the Orthodox and Black communities.

In other words: both the killers and the victims are at fault, and the killers and the victims need to have a dialogue to work out their differences.
