Dow, S&P, and Nasdaq All Surge to Record Levels as US, China Agree That Epstein Did Not Kill Himself
Given that Trump has blown up the earth at least nine times since January 2017, the economy's doing a lot better than I'd been expecting.
Now, in addition to agreeing that Epstein didn't kill himself, US and Chinese negotiators also agreed to a phased reduction of the punitive tariffs each has imposed on the other.
But sources tell me that agreeing that Epstein did not kill himself was the real breakthrough.
U.S. stocks traded higher Thursday, with all three major benchmarks touching new records, after Washington said an agreement had been struck with Beijing to cancel planned import tariffs in stages.
The benchmark Russell 2000 index of smaller, domestically-focused companies, which had been more reluctant to join the recent market rally, also was edging higher.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.66% rose 237 points, or 0.87%, to 27,732, while the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.27% gained 14 points, or 0.48%, to 3,091. The Nasdaq Composite index COMP, +0.28% added 53 points, or 0.6%, to 8,446.
The Dow has soared 858 points just in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, a poll finds that Trump's approval rating in critical swing Midwest states is in the low forties... which is actually higher than his approval rating in late 2016, when he won them.
Okay, he did not win Minnesota in 2016, but it was close. And he has +6 approval there now compared to his 2016 level.
Biden is actually losing to Warren in all of these states except for Pennsylvania, which is where Scranton Joe claims to be from when he's not claiming to be from other places.
Like The Streets. Ask him about Corn Pop some time.
Meanwhile, there's some more Sternly Worded Letters, as if that matters.
