Hunter Biden Provided "Legal Advice" to a Romanian Charged With Real Estate Fraud at, Get This, the Exact Same Time Joe Biden Was Making Quid Pro Quo Deals About Legal "Reforms" in Romania
I believe they call this a Vertically Integrated Consortium and/or Racketeering and Corrupt Enterprise.
When they say Joe Biden was "pushing" for reforms, you can just take that to mean "threatening to hold back on American aid unless Romania did as Joe Biden says, and maybe you don't want to upset his son or his 'associates,' either, capisce?"
In the final year of the Obama administration, an American lawyer traveled to Romania to meet with a businessman accused of orchestrating a corrupt land deal.
The businessman was Gabriel "Puiu" Popoviciu, a wealthy Romanian real estate tycoon. The lawyer brought in to advise him was Hunter Biden, the son of then-Vice President Joe Biden, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Hunter Biden’s work for Popoviciu in 2016 went unreported at the time, but Joe Biden’s involvement in Romania was very much public. The vice president was among the leading voices pushing the government to crack down on corruption.
There's no evidence that Hunter or his father acted improperly or violated any laws. But the arrangement, government ethics experts say, raises concerns that Hunter Biden was used as a prop in Popoviciu’s effort to dodge criminal prosecution.
"We don't know what [Hunter Biden] was paid or what he was paid for but it does raise questions of whether this Romanian individual facing criminal charges was actually paying for a connection to the American vice president," said Kathleen Clark, a Washington University law professor who specializes in government ethics.
Weirdest thing, it not only "raises the question" of whether he was paying protection money to Biden fils, it answers that question: Yes. Yes he was paying for protection.
Why the fvck else would a Romanian seek out a never-was American lawyer who has nothing on his CV except his last name?
More:
Popoviciu was convicted in 2016 but launched an appeal. He assembled a high profile legal team to fight the conviction, which included former FBI director Louis Freeh, according to a release from Freeh's firm.
That same year, Hunter Biden traveled to Romania to assist Popoviciu, according to two people familiar with the matter.
...
At the time he was brought in, Hunter Biden was performing work for the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner LLP where he was "of counsel."The firm did not respond to a request for comment.
I don't mean to trash "of counsel" lawyers, but "of counsel" is a designation given to a lawyer who is fairly senior but who is not a partner. That doesn't always mean that he isn't good enough to be a partner -- some lawyers may prefer working shorter hours or working partly as a lawyer and partly as, let's say for sake of the hypothetical, political fixer and influence peddler -- but you should just know that "of counsel" is not a prestige title.
I don't think Hunter Biden's ever anything close to a prestige title, except maybe Gold-Plated Bagman or Sly Pimp.
Meanwhile, while CNN had a poll showing that Biden had zoomed back out ahead of Warren -- crushing her 34% to 19%, a 15 point lead, Qunnippiac just published a poll showing that Warren is not only leading Biden, but pushing her lead, and leading outside the margin of error.
Quinnipiac University Poll shows Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts has taken Biden’s place as the front-runner, putting considerable distance between herself and the former vice president.
...
Warren, polling at 28 percent support in the latest release, put a commanding 7 percentage point margin between herself and Biden in recent weeks -- well outside the poll’s approximately three percent margin of error.
Sanders regained some lost ground and Pete Buttgag broke into the double digits.
I'm starting to think that polls are very unreliable these days.
Thanks to "nasty little s***bag." That's not me being mean, that's what he called himself. What am I gonna do?
