When asked about Smith's departure on Friday by DailyMail.com, President Trump said: 'Is he leaving because of bad ratings? Is he leaving because of me?'

Smith, 55, said that he was looking forward to spending more time with his partner Giovanni Graziano, 31, and their dog Lucia

Multiple sources told DailyMail.com that Smith's departure was a complete surprise to employees at the network and he was escorted out

Graziano, who was an assistant on Smith's show before moving over to Varney & Co. on the Fox Business Network in 2012, also deleted his Linked In profile

So he dated his much, much, much younger assistant? Great.

Very Easy Prediction:

Shep Smith is going to claim that he had to quit because Fox had a duty to protect its "news staff," meaning "Judge" Nap. H

e's going to pretend that this was about protecting Nap, and not just about being butt-hurt and ass-mad about initiating a Queen Bee power struggle/popularity contest with Tucker Carlson and finding out he had no power and wasn't popular.

It's riotously funny to me that Shep! Smith, who used to sign-song taunt viewers that global warming is real and coming for you, fancies himself a "hard news" man.

What has he ever reported, besides car chases and baby-eating in the Super Dome?

Shep Smith thinks he's a big macher who will pull in huge ratings at CNN.

I can't wait until he finds out that half of Fox's audience just has it on all day because they can't find the remote.

I hope that CNN or NBC pays him a lot of money to fail like Megyn Kelly did.

I can't say this for a fact, but I'd bet money on it:

Shep got all butt-hurt and ass-mad when FoxNews wouldn't make Tucker Carlson stop being mean to him. He demanded his bosses take his side in the little drama-bitch shit he'd started, and his bosses let him know that Tucker is actually an asset to the network and he is not, and he got all pissy and started talking about quitting.

That's my bet.
