The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

Subsidize something and you get more of it. Make something easy to do, and you get more of it. That the Leftist rulers of California don't understand this tenet of human nature is a testament to their failed political philosophy and their warped and astonishingly incorrect world-view.

Some would argue that this is not stupidity or ignorance, but a calculated effort in furtherance of some nefarious political goal. But what advantage is gained by an increase in bums and drunks and junkies on the street? Sure, they can use it as an excuse for more government, which converts directly to more money to spend and more votes to buy, but there are far more efficient ways of doing that. Just check the Democrat playbook. And the downside of an exploding vagrant population is the very real risk of alienating the most reliable Democrat voters...the affluent (effluent?) urban professional. NIMBY is a powerful force!
