A Little of This. A Little of That.

Is Mike Hammer's cat responsible for this, decoy keyboard for your cat?

We're wondering why he wasn't named "Commissioner Bele" (if not "Frank Gorshin) from the famous Star Trek episode "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" (sorry, can't seem to get just the image itself -- likely intentional) -- anyway, it might make for some interesting viewing & commentary in the Pet Thread:
This is definitely a unique kitteh.H/T Shain

This is our new friend Royal

Hey,

Long time lurker, I think the only time I have posted was when John Kerry was running for President and lied about running the Boston Marathon. I called them and they sent me a reply saying he never did.

My wife and I have always been lucky and had neighbors with pets. Then we swapped dog sitting when vacationing. A few of our other friends are allowed to bring their dogs to us when they go away. Recently a friend’s mother went into a downward spiral and they tried to take their dog to a shelter, but they refused him. We brought him over to see how he got on with my dog and they basically ignored each other. So we took him for a week.

The only issue was trying to get him in his crate the first night. He growled and whined, I finally got him in but he was so sad I let him out and he ran upstairs and slept with my son. I was nervous about having a pit bull in the house, but out of all the dogs we have had over he was probably the best and I was sad when he left.

My dog Yogi (he was named after Yogi bear), he is the calmest dog I have ever had.

I love the Pet Thread, and enjoy reading the stories and seeing the other morons pets.

Cheers,
Robert (no idea what my username was)

Thanks for coming out of the lurker shadows and sharing your stories with us. Nothing like having a trusted friend to watch your pets when one leaves. Don't be afraid to post now or in the future.

Hello pet lovers.
Mostly a lurker here, love reading everything on this great site. Thanks to all who contribute, it is truly appreciated.

First picture is LB, he is a Maltese-Shizu, a Malshu.
We rescued him up in Utah 12 years ago, this is how he looked, who could resist. Turned 12 last week

He was in a cage when we rescued him and had sh#t all over his face.
I Will sing to him, I fell in love with you the first time I looked at you with sh#t all over your face.
Has been a wonderful dog. Now has terrible arthritis, could hardly walk, now walks around park twice a day since taking CBD oil for dogs.

Second dog we have had 6 months. This is Nicolas, he is 8 years old and a Shizu mix.
An older lady at our church was going into assisted living and couldn’t take him with her.
Nicolas has been a joy, he has a crooked eye and an underbite, makes you smile just looking at him.
He visits his previous owner at rest home, everyone loves his and LB’s visits.
It is like he has been with us forever. And it is so great that
LB shares his home with him.
Love the Pet Thread. - L.L.

Thanks for the love L.L. Sounds like you have a super big heart when it comes to the helpless little 4 legged friends. Takes a special person to adopt dogs such as these. They look very happy!!

This is Rocky, my mom’s Maine Coon rescue. Mom is 75, and has been rapidly sliding into Alzheimer’s. This cat has saved both of our lives.
Thanks for always being there.
My Sharia Moor - Eric

Condolences on your Mother's illness. It sounds like Rocky is quite the cat. This photo shows the love between your Mom and Rocky. Thanks for sharing.

kittehes.jpg

Longtime lurker, very occasional poster. For the last 20 years or so, the Bubbas have been feeding, taming, and finding homes for and adopting neighborhood feral cats. Most of them take about year or so of feeding and talking before they tame up enough to handle, but these three took only about 10 minutes. They had just been weened and were maybe 3 weeks old, location and ID of mother unknown, just these three trying to hiss, spit, and look mean. Although we were terrified of their cuteness, we got them fed, settled, inoculated, and spoiled. Counter clockwise from left is Boo, Critter, and Calamity Jane. They join 5 other feline felons in the Bubba household. Next time I’ll send a few pics of the older crowd. Thank you Mis Hum for the thread. We look forward to it each week. - Sign me Bama Bubba

OK Horde. Are these kittehs adorable or not?!? How dang cute!!! I can see why you kept all 3. Appreciate the submission and thank you for your kind words.

Attached is Lillie; I thought I was buying a couch for myself to sit
upon, but little did I know! Lillie is a rescue of unknown mixture, but
the vet and I suspect there's a large amount of both German Shorthair
Pointer and Carolina Dog in her DNA. - Best, Bert G

I bet Lillie also has a little Couch Hog Dog DNA besides the Pointer and Carolina Dog. She looks like a big sweetie who can do no wrong. Thanks for sharing today Bert.

Flash was born around eight years ago in the woodpile in the neighbors backyard. I couldn't take him in at the time, because I was already at max cat capacity. We put food outside for him and other ferals, and during the winter, insulated shelters. He ranged all over the neighborhood, up to four blocks away. Last winter, I was carrying in groceries, and he followed me into the house, so now he's joined my collection of indoor-only foundling cats, and he is VERY happy to be here. He has feline AIDS, and a healed injury to his lower jaw. He's very sweet and gentle, a music lover, and always first at mealtimes. I love my cats more than anything else in the world. - gp

Even Flashes need to take a break? I wonder how many lives Flash used before inviting himself into your home. Your love for cats is evident. Thanks for sharing.

pepper.jpg

This is our beloved Pepper. He was rescued from a local shelter, we took him in at 11 months old. He lived to be fifteen, until his back gave out last year. He had the good grace to hold off dying until we buried my 95 year old father. Pepper died three weeks later. Such a mannered little being.

He was an Aussie black lab mix. I have had purebred G. Shepards, (3), purebred labs (3), and none, NONE, were ever the dog this good boy was.

Where ever we went, that’s where he wanted to be. This picture is after a search/rescue operation, we were sorting out the gear. Apparently he thought if he laid down on top, we would never leave him. We never did. He is our best good boy,
forever.

Love the pet thread!
D

And those 15 years blew by like nothing didn't they? Sounds like a heart dog if I ever heard of one. Sorry about his passing but glad you shared his story with us. Thank you.
