Is This The New Military Paradigm? Preemptive Strikes as A Tactical, Rather Than Strategic Plan?
It seems as if Israel is entering a new phase in its efforts against Iran and its proxies, and it makes a lot of sense. Too many times in Israel's history has it simply observed and done little or nothing, all in the service of geopolitical realities. But now the threshold is quite low...seemingly any concentration of weapons or personnel that can be destroyed without a disproportionate use of Israeli weaponry and personnel is an acceptable target.
Israel says jets hit targets in Syria to prevent Iranian drone attack
Imagine the current world had more countries acted in this fashion. North Korea's nuclear program would be a smoldering hole in the ground, as would Iran's. Clinton's aspirin factory would have been a real target, and Osama Bin Laden might have died in the 1990s.
Or not. There is no way to predict how this would have played out, but a robust and aggressive defense of a nation's best interests doesn't seem like a bad thing.
