The 2nd Amendment Is Inviolate: But Is There Anything To Be Done About These Random (And Rare) Mass Shootings?
The idea that banning guns will decrease gun violence is laughable on its face. Just take a look at a few of our southern neighbors if you want to see a bloody combination of draconian gun laws and out-of-control murder and mayhem. And if you really want to have some fun, calculate the homicide rate per 100,000 guns. We have many times more guns than any other country in the world, yet we don't seem to use them against each other nearly as frequently.
But are there rational things to be done to minimize the murder of innocents? And when I say rational, I mean constitutional. I have no desire to live in an authoritarian hellhole, where government is all-encompassing and intrusive. It's bad enough already!
As unpleasant as it may sound, we have to accept a certain amount of chaos in our society in return for the freedoms that we fought for. The question is, can we minimize that chaos while being respectful of our natural and God-given rights?
