Ilhan Omar Seeking Divorce From Second Husband, The One Who's Not Her Brother
I don't think this is a big deal, to be honest. If she's already demonstrated she's willing to divorce her own brother, obviously she wouldn't have any compunctions about divorcing someone she's not related to.
It's just logicalistic.*
Someone said this to me, and I'm not sure if this is snark or a genuine legal analysis: "She has to divorce this guy so she can remarry her brother, so he can't be forced to testify against her."
Am I supposed to say "Hah!" or "Yes that's probably it..." ?
From the Daily Mail:
EXCLUSIVE: Ilhan Omar SPLITS with her husband and moves into luxury penthouse as she heads for SECOND divorce with father of her three children
Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and her husband Ahmed Hirsi -- the father of her three children – have split, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively
Omar left her husband and has moved into a penthouse apartment in one of Minneapolis's trendiest neighborhoods
'Wow,' said Hirsi, when approached about the split by DailyMail.com. 'I can't comment on that. I'm sorry, I just can't say anything'
Omar did not return calls requesting comment from DailyMail.com by deadline
The news comes as critics are demanding Omar answer questions about whether she married her own brother in a successful bid to get him into the US
'Obviously we are proud that a Somali-American has been elected -- but we just think it is the wrong Somali-American,' a community leader told DailyMail.com
Thanks to "Ha," appropriately enough.
And see this thread claiming a Qatari plan to discredit a certain "Congresswoman's" critics, which I linked later last night.
* Yes more stealing from Pitch Meeting Guy. That's from his F8 of the Furious Pitch Meeting.
All the whoops/whoopsies I do are from him, too, but I don't credit those, because... well I don't think you need to hat tip for whoopsies.
By the way, in the Pitch Meeting for Detective Pikachu, he introduces a new joke I hope we'll see more of. I don't want to give it away, but it involves Screenwriter Guy thinking he's being super clever in his plotting, when he's really just being an idiot hack.
I thought I should point that out because I could see a lot of people saying, "I don't want to watch a Pitch Meeting for Detective Pikachu." But it's worth it for the new gag.
I think he might have done this once before -- anyone remember seeing this in a previous Pitch Meeting, and if so, which one?
