Obama's Former Head of ICE: Actually, the Cages for the Immigrant Children Was Barack Obama's Idea

No one minded the cages back when The Precious implemented them in 2015.

And I included in that what Kurt Schlichter has dubbed the "SJWcons," the Cosplay Conservatives who virtue signal on twitter all day about all the Concerns they have about leftwing worries and bothers.

You know, like Bush Water Carriers who still think it's 2003 and who dutifully blog about "toddler jails" and "baby prisons" whenever his leftist Twitter buddies start whining about it.

But you know -- even though you're actively agitating for catch-and-release and open borders, you're totally, totally also in favor of enforcing immigration laws.

You just want them enforced without any detentions or deportations. Or without anyone feeling "excluded," even though the whole point of immigration laws is excluding those who are not permitted to be in the country from being in the country.

Which is pretty much the nonsense non-position of Elizabeth Warren.

A lot of Cosplay Conservatives echo this Dummy Bait non-position. They pretend they're broadly in favor of immigration enforcement, so they don't get fired, but then are passionately against every single actual tangible action to enforce immigration laws.

The Theoretical Conservatives -- they support conservatism, in theory.

Just not in any icky practice.

Former President Barack Obama's top immigration chief in charge of removing illegal immigrants said that the "cages" Democrats have accused President Trump of housing children in were the brainchild of the Obama administration.

"I've been to that facility, where they talk about cages. That facility was built under President Obama under (Homeland Security) Secretary Jeh Johnson. I was there because I was there when it was built," said Thomas Homan, who was Obama's executive associate director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for nearly four years.

At an immigration conference today, Homan, under consideration for a new position of "border czar" in the Trump administration, grew visibly angry answering a question about "cages" often cited by Democratic critics of the president.

He cited one Democratic chairman who asked a Trump official, "You still keeping kids in cages?"

Homan, at the conference hosted by the Center for Immigration Studies, said, "I would answer the question, 'The kids are being house in the same facility built under the Obama administration.' If you want to call them cages, call them cages. But if the left wants to call them cages and the Democrats want to call them cages then they have to accept the fact that they were built and funded in FY 2015."
