The Morning Report - 3/14/19

impbrea.jpg

Good morning kids. Thursday and as the dust begins settling somewhat over the school admission bribery scandal, the big story emerging is the seeming internecine Democrat warfare over impeaching President Trump. As Sally Zeikovsky writes in American Thinker:

...The only difference among the Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez/Sanders Democrats is one of tactics. In order to achieve their socialist objectives, the Pelosians do things incrementally, often behind the scenes, and talk like moderates while implementing radical legislation. The Ocasio-Cortez/Sandersans lay it all on the line, hide nothing, and say exactly what they intend to do. But the goals are the same, the ideology identical. Even the path to reach their goals is the same. They just differ slightly on approach - - do we tell them we're screwing them or make it all look nicely packaged... and screw 'em?

This is certainly the case. But Zelikovsky says a few things in her article that I'm not so sure about. She asserts that Nancy Pelosi, in fact, has not lost control of the party and although her analysis of how the Trotskyites vs. the Shining Path Maoists differ in approach is correct, she doesn't recognize the yuuuuuge orange elephant in the room, which is Donald Trump himself. His attempt to alter the trajectory towards socialist hell is the reason the likes of Donkey Chompers Chiquita Kruschev, the "Bro-Fo" and all the others, including the media itself are clamoring openly for the most radical socialist policies in the most vile, rabid language. If the mainstreaming of anti-Semitism in that party doesn't confirm this, then you're not paying attention. Despite to seemingly disagree with herself in a couple of places, it's a good essay nonetheless and worthy of your time.

That still leaves us with the impeachment question and what the meaning is of Palsi Pelosi's going against the tide of the Democrat base and most, if not all, on her side of the aisle who ran and more than likely got out the vote on the promise of impeachment. I'm of the belief that Palsi has, in fact, lost control of the party or is on the verge of losing it if the so-called "Justice Democrats" can wrest enough "moderates" (for this party, anyway) to mess with her tactical/parliamentary agenda. Sub-morons like Al Green and Maxine Waters have been with her since the Pleistocene era and yet are as vocal and virulent about getting rid of Trump as Rancid Tliban who shrieked she was going to "impeach the motherf**ker" at some rally.

Circling back, yes Pelosi does want to impeach Trump, but I think she realizes that as the economy continues booming (the Fed notwithstanding), the Collusion myth explodes and the ramping up of hearings only making the President look more and more like a victim of persecution, the odds of his re-election continue to get better and better. And since impeachment is a political process and not a criminal one, you need to drive his approval to 30% or below. And that ain't happening. In fact, as time has gone on, his numbers get better and better. He's well into the 40s and from what I understand when you approach or reach 50%, it's essentially a mandate from the electorate.

What Pelosi is doing is waiting until after the 2020 election to start the circus and destroy his second term agenda in the hopes that a Democrat retakes the White House in 2024. The one fly in the ointment is her expecting to retain the House. And all things considered, this president is going to have some major coattails for even the recalcitrant GOP candidates to ride in on.

The things that tend to scare me are, assuming Trump does win reelection (please G-d) what happens after his second term? We need Trumps in every elected office all the way down to dog-catcher and for the next 40 years to stave off disaster. Also, the Democrat Party is now solidly a reflection of its electorate. The party is officially anti-American, anti-freedom and is a de facto foreign entity that seeks the overthrow of the nation as founded. It got that way via 40-50 or more years of brainwashing several generations of American youth and the importation of upwards of 30 million or more foreign, destitute peasants who have no intention of assimilating and every intention of being dependent upon the ever-growing, ever-intrusive central command and control government, all while subsuming and replacing whatever is left of our heritage and culture. That there is the mortal threat we are facing. Solve that and win a cookie.

Elsewhere, Daniel Greenfield leads the field in covering the Democrat anti-semitism, a terror-linked lawyer is running for city commissioner in heavily Jewish Coral Springs, and Rancid Tliban and "Bro-Fo" Omar are causing trouble here and abroad.

Politics: Fauxca-Has-Been Warren gets the chutzpadik-of-all-time award in condemning the fraud of the college admissions scandal, Chiquita Kruschev melts down over the Wells Fargo CEO highlighting her stupidity, and a couple of good essays on the NeverTrumpers including Victor Davis Hanson.

Anti-Trump Coup: Paul Manafort gets more charges hurled at him by the commie pinko fuckwad New York DA (he may be praying for a SCOTUS decision on double jeopardy to save him), and Lisa Page bemoans flapping her gumsy gums.

Abortion: Things looking good in Ohio and hideous in the House.

First Amendment: No one watches CNN but many pay for it, Facebook crashes, the NeverTrumper attack on VDH (the author must be a lurker), and Fauxca-Has-Been's plan to break up Big-Tech Big Brother may not be all that great.

Foreign Desk: Venezuelans go long on colander masks and the chaos there is not good for the region or us in the long run, Brexit is a total cock-up, B-52s over the South China Sea, Algerian unrest is the last thing Macron needs, tranny ban in the Armed Forces and Iran gets appointed to UN Women's Rights committee. Pussy-hat burqas for everybody!

Domestic News: Neomi Rao is confirmed to nation's second highest court and a look at the bureaucracy through the lens of the Boeing 737 Max fiasco.

Economy: Trump grounds all Boeing 737 Max's.

Education: A charter school success story as a model for the rest of the nation and several links on campus Joo-hatred.

Red-Greens: Walter Williams on the insipid notion of "saving the planet" and the real danger of global cooling.

Feminazism and Transgender Psychosis: Forget Barbie and GI Joe; strap-ons and fleshlights... for the children!

Hither and Yon: Christian Toto with Adam Carolla-isms, David Frum gets smacked around, and Victor Davis Hanson on our societal trajectory.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
