Democrats Act to Protect Their Most Loyal Constituency -- The Media
Also from PJ Media.
Joe Concha:
Three Democratic lawmakers re-introduced a Journalist Protection Act that intends to designate "certain attacks on those reporting the news" as a federal crime.
The bill was introduced by Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), and Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.).
..
"The Journalist Protection Act makes it a federal crime to intentionally cause bodily injury to a journalist affecting interstate or foreign commerce in the course of reporting or in a manner designed to intimidate him or her from newsgathering for a media organization," reads the Tuesday press release.
...
The lawmakers said they were introducing the bill as a response to President Trump's "climate of extreme hostility" towards the media.
"Both before and since taking office, President Trump has blatantly stoked a climate of extreme hostility toward the press," the release said. "He has called the press 'the enemy of the American people,' and described mainstream media outlets as 'a stain on America.'"
"Such antagonistic rhetoric encourages others to think, regardless of their views, that violence against journalists is more acceptable."
Meanwhile, the media pushes the lie that Trump is an actual traitor and agent of Russia, which seems to me like something that could "encourage others to think, regardless of their views, that assassination attempts are more acceptable."
The media also excuses and defends antifa attacks against conservatives, which, again, could "encourage others to think, regardless of their views, that beating people in the streets with deadly weapons are more acceptable."
For example: CNN's Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon both repeatedly justified Antifa's attacks on conservatives. This led to Antifa threatening Tucker Carlson's family at their home at night.
As far as I know, neither man has apologized for having "encouraged" others to think such tactics were acceptable. In fact, both have denied that their justifications of Antifa violence and harassment were justification.
Will the Democrats be passing a resolution condemning such mainstreaming of extremist violence?
Maybe they can dilute it down to merely say, "Herebeit resolved, bad people r bad."
But the media need to be protected. They're allowed to direct violent wrath towards their enemies, you know. They're providing a public service.
You, on the other hand? You're acceptable losses. You're collateral damage. You're acceptable casualties of war.
Meanwhile, Democrat All-Star Ilhan Omar has totally learned her lesson about the dangers of dehumanizing people you don't like.
