"Jussie:" I Was Totally on the Phone With My Manager When I Was Attacked
Police: Can We Inspect Your Phone to Confirm That?
"Jussie:" Nahhhh
Well I 99% believed this was totally real yesterday, but this puts me up to 99.99999%!
I just got this email: "Music managers are above reproach and among the most honest, law-abiding folk in the world. Sincerely, Colonel Tom Parker."
Police have released a useless picture of two men they finally found after canvasing lots of security cameras. But these are just two men they found, not two men having anything to do with the "attack:"
It does not look good for "Jussie" that after searching through all this camera footage they can barely find anyone on the street at 2am in 14 degree weather besides him.
A Chicago neighborhood watch group says these men weren't even near him during the claimed time of the "attack" -- they were walking away from the claimed area of the "attack" a half hour earlier. At best, they're witnesses to other guys wearing MAGA hats.
However, a reporter says in this thread that police think they have synced the time codes of various security cameras and two men are in Smollet's area at the same time he is, though they are on a different side of the street. And Smollet is only not on surveillance camera for one minute -- the "attack" would therefore have to come in that exact 60 second gap in surveillance camera footage.
This is interesting -- was it even a "noose"?
Police arrived about ten minutes later, roughly 45 minutes after the attack, and met with Smollett who still had the rope around his neck, according to police. Officers turned off their body worn cameras at Smollett's request, a police spokesperson said.
Late Tuesday, a police spokesperson told the Sun-Times that the rope "didn't necessarily resemble a noose.” A police source told CWBChicago that the rope was "thin clothesline, straight out of the package."
Mayor Rahm Emmanuel isn't referring to this as an "attack" or even an "alleged attack." He indicated a lot of doubt in "Jussie's" claims by calling these claims an "alleged statement."
Even the statement is only alleged!
I'm getting the sense that Chicago's police and government are deeply skeptical of Jussie's Attention-Getting Tales of Peril and Intrigue.
