Kamala Harris: I'm Coming for Your Guns and Your Private Medical Insurance
She wants to take away private medical insurance and put everyone on the famously popular Medicaid.
California Sen. Kamala Harris fully embraced "Medicare-for-all" single payer health insurance at a CNN town hall Monday and said she's willing to end private insurance to make it happen.
"We need to have Medicare-for-all," Harris told a questioner in the audience, noting it's something she feels "very strongly" about.
When pressed by CNN's Jake Tapper if that means eliminating private insurance, the senator answered affirmatively, saying she would be OK with cutting insurers out of the mix. She also accused them of thinking only of their bottom lines and of burdening Americans with paperwork and approval processes.
"The idea is everyone gets access to medical care," she responded when Tapper asked if people who like their insurance would get to keep it.
As this is a CNN article, what the odds that Republicans will be pouncing in the near future?
It was an answer that Republicans immediately jumped on.
By the way, she's a bit of a whore.
I'm sorry, I meant "floozy." A floozy who just happens to sleep with her married boss and get all sorts of career benefits from that arrangement.
Sure, I dated Kamala Harris. So what?
Willie Brown
I've been peppered with calls from the national media about my "relationship" with Kamala Harris, particularly since it became obvious that she was going to run for president. Most of them, I have not returned.
Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.
And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco. I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a host of other politicians.
The difference is that Harris is the only one who, after I helped her, sent word that I would be indicted if I "so much as jaywalked" while she was D.A.
Literally no one believes that, Willie. You're just trying to somehow portray a woman who sleeps around with a married man for career advancement as "tough."
Just as the media began telling us that "everyone lies" and "lying is healthy and human" during Bill Clinton's sexual scandal, we can expect the media to begin informing us "Actually, sleeping with your married boss for what basically amounts to a monetary payoff is very empowering" and suchlike.
