The Morning Report - 12/21/18

Good morning kids. Friday is here as is the winter solstice and the shortest day of the year. And for anyone who ever doubted the President's resolve - me included - shame on us. He remains steadfast in his commitment to border security and its physical manifestation, the big beautiful wall that was also what he built his entire campaign on. That said, Don Surber took me to task along with Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter for running around with our collective hairs on fire. Surber can rightly call out Coulter for her premature ripping into Trump for surrendering (he deleted her Twitter feed) but neither Limbaugh nor I did that. In fact, if you're reading this, Don, I direct you to my opening monologue from Wednesday morning in which I stated my case for not panicking and, as you mentioned, placing the blame for the failures such as they are over the past two years squarely on the GOP-e.

Yes, indeed, the President stood firm with Mark Meadows and the conservatives announcing his refusal to sign any continuing resolution unless it contained the $5 billion he wanted for the Border Wall. They added $700 million in an amendment and now it's on to the Senate where if Cocaine Mitch follows regular order, 60 votes are needed for passage. Meh, he should just use budget reconciliation like Harry Reid did to shove Obamacare up our collective keister way back when. In fact, it would actually be justified since we are talking about an actual budget-related bill. Lots of links about the next steps both in the immigration and politics sections, but sticking to the former, in the wake of hack-in-black Emmet Sullivan's flagrant overreaching decree on the nature of how we rate asylum seekers, DHS is intending to keep them on the Mexican side of the border to end catch-and-release insanity, ICE has deported a man who smuggled in terrorists (he should've been waterboarded first, IMHO), Teh Ted has a good idea, Mark Levin flames Palsi and Schemer and Victor Davis Hanson with the highfalutin' analysis.

Too politics where the same Leftists who defended the lying liar Balsey Ford are hell bent to destroy wife-beater Keith Ellison's victim Karen Monahan and Eliot "Client 9" Spitzer (who-dat? [sarc]) had one in the bag - literally. Maizie Hirohito went on MSLSD and used a bad word, the Senate Dems, despite the propaganda, are now backed into a corner with the shutdown theatre, Rabbi Fischer coins a better phrase "presidential filibuster," a new poll blasts the women-hate-Trump myth, Nazi collaborator George Soros funds a "non-partisan" group that's anything but (day-ending-in-"Y" dept.), thanks to Loopy Ocasio-Fiasco's Green New Deal the Dems are at each other's throats, the DNC sez go long on popcorn futures as they schedule 12 (count 'em 12) debates ahead of the 2020 election, and a look at the real issues that matter as well as whither the GOP from here.

Mueller witch hunt and Deep State Coup headlines: Comey finally admits he lied to Trump about the dossier, Darrel Issa sez Loretta Lynch's testimony supports Trump's decision to fire Comey, Mollie Hemingway weighs in on the firing and consequences for the DoJ, Deep State seditionist and leaker James Wolfe goes unnoticed and Daniel Greenfield takes a step back with the big picture on what this was all about - Hillary.

To Fake News Fakery and Censorship with the media's horrible epic failure of a week, Amazon's Alexa is a heavy breather, things that make you go boom - censoring "hate speech," and shifting the goalposts now that Muh Kolluzhnikovs is kaput...nikov.

The big story at the foreign desk is the President's decision to bug out of Syria. A buddy of mine said, maybe this was Trump's way of lighting a fire under the ass of our so-called allies to get them to commit some of their troops. In any case, I can argue the pros and cons as can several of the authors in the links. The one thing I am sure of is we have got to get the hell out of Afghanistan. Unless and until we commit to sending in a million me, using the USAF to knock off a couple hundred feet from the top of those mountains in Tora Bora and then impose martial law where there will be summary executions for jaywalking and then ban the Koran, then we're wasting our blood, treasure and time. Rant over. Elsewhere, Macron has given the Yellow Vests a tax cut as appeasement, the US is ramping up efforts to combat Chi-Com industrial spying and thievery, and Mad Dog Mattis is ankling as Secretary of Defense in February. I guess he and PDT didn't mesh.

Domestically, great news! The government is giving money to the Nation of Islam to go into prisons and teach inmates (sound of blood ejecting from Sefton's eyeballs). Also, Ohio lawmakers need to get yellow-vested, judge rejects ficus-fapper Weinstein's motion and he is going to trial, and on the heels of yesterday's report of DC decriminalizing turnstile jumping, a pervert gets pinched for beating more than just the fare.

To the economy where a record amount of money has been repatriated back to the US thanks to the Trump tax cuts for three straight quarters, but have no fear; Jerome Powell at the Fed will strangle that golden goose. Abolish the Fed and go back to the gold standard.
