As always, the chess/dress pr0n thread is an open thread, so there is no such thing as an off-topic comment.
Easier Problem - White To Play (212)
Goal: White can force a mate in two
Hint: Make sure the black king stays in the corner

k2q4/nb1N4/8/8/8/6Q1/8/6K1 w - - 0 1
This is Cute
I feel sorry for the little boy. Evidently, his all-out attack with the king didn't work out as he had hoped.
More Challenging Problem - Black To Play (850)
Goal: Win decisive material
Hint: Force White to give up his rook

Easier Problem - White To Play

1.Qb8+! Qxb8
2.Nb6#
Smothered mate, anyone?
More Challenging Problem - Black To Play

8/4kp2/2Qp1p2/5P2/4P3/Pp1q4/1P1r4/KR6 b - - 0 1
1...Rd1
2.Rc1
Pointless is 2.Qc7+ Kf8 3.Qc8+ Kg7 4.Rc1 and White has run out of checks
2...Qc2!
3.Qxc2 bxc2
At this point, White is in a state of zugzwang. 4.Rxd1? is bad because 4...cxd1Q+ and 4.Rb1?? cxb1Q# is even worse. The best White can do is
4.Ka2 Rxc1 and wins the rook outright.
Hope to see you all next week!

Note: that cryptic line of letters and numbers you see underneath each board diagram is a representation of the position in what is known as "Forsyth-Edwards Notation", or F.E.N. It's actually readable by humans. Most computer applications nowadays can read FEN, so those of you who may want to study the position, you can copy the line of FEN and paste into your chess app and it should automatically recreate the position on its display board. Or, Windows users can just "triple click" on it and the entire line will be highlighted so you can copy and paste it into your chess app.
