Border Patrol Agents Arrest an MS-13 Gang Member Who Had Traveled With the Caravan to Seek Political Asylum in America, I Guess

All of these people say they are fleeing gang violence.

This guy, I guess, was fleeing himself. I guess he beats himself up like Jim Carrey at the end of Liar, Liar.

Border Patrol agents assigned to El Centro Sector arrested a gang member Saturday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:09 p.m., when agents encountered a man just east of the Calexico Port of Entry suspected of being in the United States illegally. After a short interview, the man told agents he is a Honduran citizen and active gang member with the notorious Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) international crime organization. The man also told agents he traveled to the United States border with a large group of people from Central America intending on filing for asylum in the United States.

The man was taken to El Centro station for further questioning. At the station records checks revealed the man is 29-year-old Jose Villalobos-Jobel, a citizen of Honduras. Again, Villalobos confirmed his story of his gang involvement and intent on entering the United States illegally.

Here's a related point: The media has a remarkably selective way of admitting the threat of MS-13, or denying the threat of MS-13, depending on context, and depending on whether admitting it or denying it helps or hurts the illegal immigrant cause in the specific context.

The media downplays, embargoes, or even denies the MS-13 threat in America. They accuse Trump and/or the right of making up a hallucinatory threat to justify their racist beliefs, refusing to cover brutal, brutal serial killings by MS-13 members.

They do so because they don't want their viewers to know about crimes committed by illegals.

But when a bunch of illegals storm the US border and throw rocks at Border Patrol agents, the media suddenly changes its tune on the dire threat posed by MS-13: now the media begins claiming that the border-rushing and assaults committed by migrants can be excused, because they are desperate, because they are fleeing the menace of the all-powerful MS-13 gangs in Honduras and El Salvador.

But then when there's an MS-13 ax murder in America again, the threat of MS-13 is derided as a racist, nativist fantasy, something Republicans are just making up.

So which is it, media? Does MS-13 exist or not?

It cannot be a brutal, powerful international gang when you need it to be and also be either a minor problem not worth talking about or a straight-up racist delusion when you need it to be that.
