ISIS Admits Guilt for "Known Wolf" Terror Attack in Australia
I read an opinion piece a long time ago that the media's favored locution -- "claimed responsibility" -- had the probably-intended effect of obliterating the concept of guilt. One confesses guilt of a crime; one does not "claim responsibility" when interrogated by police.
So why do we change the words to avoid the notion of guilt for a crime when it comes to terrorism?
