The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“For decades, the black community has been in an emotionally abusive relationship with the Democrat Party. Our fidelity to leftist politicians coupled with our false belief that a larger government might facilitate solutions, has led to the overall collapse of our families, neighborhoods, and incidentally, our futures." Candace Owens

Quote II

Well, the post office is probably not the place you want to go if you want to be infused with patriotism and a renewed sense of vigor. Adam Carolla

Quote III

A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference. Thomas Jefferson

Quote IV

There was never a majority of freedom-loving honorable Americans.

People who believe in individual freedom and natural rights are a minority and always have been. Joe Jarvis

$185 Million dollars, with a "M" is a boat load of money. One would think that it would buy peace, love, understanding and diversity.

A Columbia University internal report has issued a 151-page “Equity Report” proposing solutions to “close salary gaps” and address “race disparities" in the university workforce.

"The report's major findings include a lack of diversity in the senior leadership of academic departments and centers; insufficient transparency about how important decisions are made; and unclear policies and decision-making processes,” according to an announcement by the university. “There also was evidence of differences in workload and salary among women and underrepresented minorities and the persistent problem of harassment and discrimination.”

All subcommittees participating in the report reported a “lack of diversity in senior leadership” in arts and sciences, specifically a “lack of women in senior positions.”

I'm not a fan of Kevin D. Williamson or NRO. That being said here is an interesting read by KDW, "Rage Makes You Stupid"

People have the strongest feelings about the things they know the least about.
What are we supposed to think about political rage?

Before and after the arrest of Cesar Sayoc, the suspect in the recent string of bombs sent to prominent Democrats and media figures, we were treated to any number of homilies about “rage” and its origins in “toxic” political rhetoric. Many of these homilies were pointed directly or indirectly at President Donald Trump and his immoderate Twitter habits. That political rage is necessarily linked to political violence was assumed, and sometimes asserted, but rarely argued.

The ONT Musical Interlude

October 29, 1971, Duane Allman of The Allman Brothers Band was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle on a Macon, Georgia street while trying to swerve to avoid a tractor-trailer and was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle bounced into the air, landed on Allman and skidded another 90 feet with Allman pinned underneath. He was three weeks shy of his 25th birthday. via thisdayinmusic.com

October 29, 2014, Phil Collins handed over his large collection of Alamo memorabilia to a Texas museum, calling the donation the end of a six-decade "journey". "I'm 64," he said of his fascination with the 1836 battle. "When I was five or six years old, this thing began." Collins' collection included a fringed leather pouch used by Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie's legendary knife. via thisdayinmusic.com

What's this? Women lie about sexual assault? Say it aint so Woke Women's Movement.

A Bellevue, WA police chief was cleared on charges he raped a woman after it was discovered she created fake emails to prove her accusation.

Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett says he is moving on from the false accusations, made by a woman who still is not being named, but seems likely to be charged with multiple crimes relating to her claims. The Seattle Times reports that Mylett was cleared after a two-and-a-half month investigation completed by neighboring Bothell police.

The 44-year-old Issaquah, WA, woman who accused Mylett claimed he raped her two years ago at his Bothell home during an encounter arranged “through an adult sex website.” The woman also made accusations against two other Bellevue detectives, which led to domestic violence and witness tampering charges against one of them (those charges were dropped earlier this month).

Ooops. Sorry about that. Your money is gone.

A small Bitcoin exchange based in Alberta, Canada, has gone offline. Before their Twitter page went offline, MapleChange had announced on Twitter that they “[had] no more funds to pay anyone back.”

In the way of an explanation, the exchange had, approximately one hour before deleting its Twitter page, said that a “bug” had enabled “some people” to withdraw all of the funds on the exchange.

Nothing screams classy like disrupting a moment of silence for murder victims.

Protesters at a Marsha Blackburn for Senate campaign event today in Tennessee featuring the candidate and Sen. Lindsey Graham was interrupted multiple times by protesters, including during a moment of silence for the victims of the Tree of Life massacre in Pittsburgh:

The protesters put up a fight when asked to leave and were eventually handcuffed:

My my. What a lenient society. Genius Award Winner.

A man who allegedly has been driving on a suspended license since 1999 has been arrested yet again.

On Feb. 1, Wyandotte police pulled over the man after noticing a heavily cracked windshield on the driver’s side of his vehicle. That’s when they learned he was ineligible to drive due to over 380 current suspensions, and he had 45 active warrants for his arrest.

From freaky fast to Freaky Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

But then came the troubling phone call from her brother: The incision from his spinal fusion was oozing blood and pus. His left leg had gone numb. And he couldn’t find a ride to the hospital, Nagengast posted in a Facebook account of what unfolded Saturday night back in Nebraska.

An Army veteran living on disability in Columbus, Nebraska, Holeman believed he couldn’t afford a ride to the hospital, his sister said. He didn’t have the cash on hand for a taxi and didn’t believe his VA insurance would cover an ambulance, she said. (In a statement Wednesday, the Omaha VA said it urges veterans in need of an ambulance to call one.)
