Meet The PetMorons

IMG_20180628_191234.jpg

Pictured below are Riley the Border Collie and Haggis the West Highland Terrier. Riley has been lonely since Allstar (once featured in PetMorons as the one-eyed pirate terrier) passed away last year just shy of 13 years. Haggis who is 8 months old, spends his days bedeviling Riley and generally committing all manner of mischief and mayhem. Its true that dogs are man's best friend, but it's a joy to behold dogs who are best friends. - The Butcher

Sorry to hear about Allstar, but happy to hear you have found a substitute for him. Good looking crew you have there Butcher. Thank you for the story.

My Yorkie, Bug (11 yrs-old and going strong), loves the beach on the Outer Banks. She likes to walk on the hard sand and let the incoming waves cool her belly -- have to keep her on a leash because sometimes she get washed away. She's so short that blowing sand gets in her eyes. I found these goggles at a local store so I guess it's a pretty common problem. Also good for fishing trips on blazingly bright days.

I always look forward to Sunday morning and the Pet thread. Keep up the good work!

liz953 thank you for taking the time out to deal with your bumbling Cob. I finally got Bug's photo up. We appreciate the insight into goggles.

This is Big Boy(aka ciccano). Originally from Arezzo Italy in 2009. His first mom left him and went to Austin. He had bad teeth when he moved in. But the three that are left are perfect. The next picture is Pugs, or Pugsy, adopted in 2015 and the best dog ever. The last picture is Mittens, Jr. a walk on and twin to our first Mittens. All have been in the pet hoard before.
Big is doing what he does best, Pugs resting from the Texas heat, and Mitten waiting for 5:00 so she can try to get my wine. Lurker, annieb

Annieb it appears that most of them have been sipping on the wine. It's always 5:00 somewhere, amirite? Great looking crew!!! Thanks for the submission. Best of luck with them.

CFO Moms cats being herded. Video.

This you tube video is of my "boys", 3 littermates I adopted in 1998. The last one passed away this past January. In their prime the spent all day having their staff man the door so they could come and go at will. But in the evening, I would ring the bell to let them know it was time to come in for dinner. The video shows how well they knew what the signal meant.

My current cats are Spike (the black one) a rescue who acquired us 3 years ago (The Humane Society estimated his age at about 3 years when we got him. He is seen here in favorite spot - my desk.) and Gigi (the gray tuxedo). Gigi showed up on our porch last summer and took up residence. She was kind of thin and a bit fearful at first. We captured her and took her to be fixed but it turned out she already had been. As winter neared we decided to just bring her inside and she resides under my bed most of the time but she is happy, vocal and not "tiny" anymore. In fact Gigi stands for" Greedy Gut".

Thank you for the weekly thread. I enjoy it very much even tho I sometimes have to read it too late to be able to comment.

I've read content at AOS for years and have lurked in comments for a while. Last Saturday (8/4) I de-lurked as Evasiveboat42. Here are pics of my current dogs.

This is Moose, he's an Icelandic Sheepdog, he's a good herding dog and all around great farm dog, and of course my best friend. He's the only one here that knows exactly how much livestock and poultry we have and where they'll belong. He'll certainly alert us if anything is out of place.

This is Sunna, also an Icelandic Sheepdog. She's an AKC Grand Champion and Canine Good Citizen. She enjoys chasing wild birds out of the yard, playing frisbee, playing ball, and laying on my lap.

This is Clover, she is Sunna's daughter, thus another Icelandic Sheepdog. She's a good herding dog/farm dog and wonderful pet. She also earned her Canine Good Citizen. She is also a bit of a goof.

This is Osita, a Schipperke. She has a collection of tricks she does, the first one is free then Osita has to get paid. Smart little dog, if not a bit hard headed or bossy. She was a gift to my wife one Christmas, it was almost Christmas and I hadn't found a gift yet, how much trouble could a little tiny puppy be? She's very much loved here.

Thanks for letting me share my pets!

You are most welcome Evasiveboat42. I've never "met" an Icelandic Sheepdog. Very cute. And I suspect with most herding type dogs they always need something to do to keep them busy and fulfilled. They look happy and healthy abused and mistreated ;)
