We Are Real News, Mr. President
Rand Paul is warning that there will likely be assassinations in the future, thanks to political actors -- and I assume he includes our dreadful media in that -- turning up the rhetoric to 15.
That's what the media claimed during the "Climate of Hate" days, right? So if they believed that then, they must also believe it now.
Or do they just not care, because they think the likely trigger-pullers will be their leftwing allies taking care of some turbulent priests?
Paul, during an interview with a Kentucky radio station, said he was concerned that there "is going to be an assassination," after a few tense weeks around the Capitol because of the Supreme Court fight.
"I really worry that someone is going to be killed and that those who are ratcheting up the conversation ... they have to realize that they bear some responsibility if this elevates to violence," Paul said.
Paul recounted the June 2017 shooting at a practice session for the congressional baseball game, where a gunman shot five people, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.). The Kentucky Republican also recalled how his neighbor assaulted him late last year.
"These are people that are unstable. We don't want to encourage them," he added. "We have to somehow ratchet it down and say we're not encouraging them that violence is ever OK."
Paul was asked on the radio show about Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who urged members of a group advocating for an end to homelessness to "get up in the face of some congresspeople and tell them about common sense solutions."
"I think what people need to realize is when people like Cory Booker say 'get up in their face,' he may think that that's OK," Paul said. "But what he doesn't realize is that for about every 1,000" people who "might want to get up in your face, one of them is going to be unstable enough to commit violence," Paul added.
But Brooke Baldwin will hear none of this. She won't even acknowledge that a mob of angry leftists chasing Ted Cruz and his family out of a restaurant -- a mob which presumably wanted to shout some "commonsense solutions" to them -- is a mob at all.
She repeatedly denies that a mob was in fact a mob.
"Let me move past the m-word," she says.
Thankfully, Brooke Baldwin is now aging out of her role as Bubblegum Blonde News Reader. She's got enough foundation on to build a colonial split-level.
I can't tell if it's too much or not enough.
It's significant that the leftwing media continues encouraging violence at the same time their former presidential candidate declares the end of civic peace -- until Democrats take back power, of course.
So the question remains: What civility do liberals have left to abandon? How can the left get any less civil than they already are without breaking into open street riots? Does this mean instead of threatening violence liberals should actually follow through and harm those who disagree with them?
Last month a Democrat was arrested for allegedly attempting to stab a Republican congressman with a pocket knife at a fall festival in Castro Valley, California. Several weeks later, his opponent, Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell, made light of rape threats aimed at a young staffer working for Sen. Susan Collins.
In an open letter published by CNN last week, Kelly Paul, wife to Republican Sen. Rand Paul, begged Democratic Sen. Cory Booker to condemn the intimidation and threats of violence she and her family have faced over the past year. Last year, Republican Rep. Steve Scalise was shot and nearly killed by a leftist while he was practicing baseball with some Republican colleagues.
I keep saying this but now that the leftist media has expressly endorsed the tactic of nonstop public harassment of public political figures, such as the Democrats' PR arm the Media, it is only a matter of time before these same threatening, likely-to-lead to violence tactics are visited upon them.
When Brooke Baldwin can never eat in public in peace, she'll start asking Republicans to white knight for her and condemn the tactic.
And I'm sure some cucks will be eager to take a CNN's thirty pieces of silver to do so -- cucks'll sell their mother's virtue for airfare and a per diem -- but most of us are going to remember what they said just a month or two ago, and we're going to say exactly what you're saying now:
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Update:
Obviously they'll get right on that -- they're the party that cares so much about "norms," you know.
"Republicans Seize:" The media will only mention leftwing violence, and Hillary Clinton's not-even-a-dog-whistle call for it, with a "Republicans seize" frame.
