The Morning Report 8/2/18

Good morning kids. Thursday and lots of ground to cover so let's commence. Yesterday marked the 30th anniversary of the Rush Limbaugh program and we here at the Morning Report wish him hearty congratulations. He truly is a political and cultural icon, having pioneered what was the alternative mass media in 1988. The great mistake the Left and the elites make is assuming people listen to Rush to get their opinions when in fact people listen to him because he echoes their opinions and gives voice to them in a way that is articulate, entertaining, informed, sometimes hilarious, of late increasingly passionate and always without malice or rancor. I know that I and others in what I consider to be the actual media owe him a tremendous debt. Well done, el Rushbo and here's to another 30 years.

With that, President Trump called into the program for a surprise congratulatory message which, along with the love fest, turned into an extended conversation. The key soundbite was PDT's reassurance that he has absolutely no problem with a government shutdown if it means forcing the funding for the border wall. That said, we have a link where the GOP Senators are now funding the government piecemeal in order to defang the President's threat. What backstabbing pussies. Yes, I do hate the omnibus 2,000+ page pork packages and agree that everything we fund should be a standalone item, but this move just reeks of political bullshit. And doubtless funding for the border wall and security will not be forthcoming. Screw them. While we're on the subject, Coulter's latest on how the ACLU and thug judges created chaos and are hell bent to open the borders, yet another dreamy DREAMer has been charged with sex crimes and the Dem candidate for NY AG wants to take ICE to court, presumably the same court her boss wants to sue.

In politics, Democrat-Socialite Loopy Ocasio-Fiasco was snubbed by Obama vis a vis endorsements which means the Maoist-Trotskyite civil war within the Democrat Party is for real, Maxine "Impeaches 'n Scream" Waters is in trouble (for this moment) with the FEC, Jared Polis makes money the old fashioned way; by goniffing it from the public trough, something about Bigfoot porn in a VA House race and the Dems think their embrace of Socialism for 2018 is like the PDT "populist" (so-called) wave of 2016. Nothing left of the chicken but a few feathers and a beak.

Speaking of Democrats and tolerance and Massachusetts, some dame sees a Trump bumper sticker and floors the gas pedal into it, while the dean at Georgia apologizes for the unspeakable crime of publicly praising his Republican friend. We joke about "the camps" at our own peril.

In Fake Newsery, "Jm J." Acosta got into a pissing contest with Hannity and lost, while the White House affirms the first amendment rights of hecklers to heckle. Waiting on the ruling from Judge Puffa-Puffa Rice for that one.

Sliding over into the second amendment category, 3-D printed guns are now the outrage du jour. Harsanyi over at the Federalist tries to debunk the propaganda, Massachusetts dipshit Ed Markey is holding a PDT nominee hostage until the evil items are banned, and a thoughtful piece about France and gun bans durning the Nazi-Nazi occupation.

In the Mueller Witch Hunt, who cares. Seriously, the judge in the Manafort show trial ripped the prosecution a new one, and the President has openly called on Sooper Secret Sleeper AG Snoozy Jam Sessionszzz to shut the shit-show down already. Speaking of which, the DoJ is not on board this new GOP drug decriminalization law which is being pimped by Jared Kushner and, get this, the Koch Whores. Meanwhile a federal judge in Albuquerque has struck down a vehicle seizure law as unconstitutional. Seems NM was hot and horny to grab assets before an individual is actually found guilty at trial. At first glance, looks like a good call for the 4th amendment. You may all weigh in as doubtless you will.

In foreign affairs, the US has slapped a couple of Turks with sanctions for the continued imprisonment of American pastor Andrew Brunson but the Turks have vowed to retaliate. Meh. Nothing focuses the mind like a little bombing practice near Ankara. VP Pence personally accepted the claimed remains of US Korean War servicemen, Mark Levin on the increased Farsi military activity in the Gulf, Daniel Greenfield on the reconstitution of the Second Fleet, and a section of the Great Wall of China has collapsed. Maybe if the Chi-Com construction firm stole some American construction tech, this wouldn't have happened. Or maybe they stole the tech from the Florida University pedestrian bridge...

Over in Red-Green news, the enviro-luddites are freaking out over the New York Times debunking the lie that the oil companies knew about their role in "climate change" and did nothing, first they came for the straws now they're coming for the styrofoam and generous-to-a-fault UK greenies show compassion by helping the poverty-stricken third world save their environments - for a hefty price. Compassion ain't cheap, guv.

From hither and yon, both Yoder and Cuomo help sabotage healthcare in their own bipartisan ways, pro-life groups are praising the prevention of sham Title X funding for abortions, Dak Prescott of the Cowboys sticks it to the kneelers, and 40 years after "Animal House" the cultural revolution has targeted the classic for termination. "No more fun of any kind!" For real.
