Politico: Why the Smart Move for NeverTrumpers Is to Become Democrats »

Daily Caller Op-Ed: If Putin's Releasing DNC Emails Proved He Wanted Hillary to Win, Don't the Anti-Trump Rumors Peddled by "Kremlin Officials" "Close to Putin" Prove He Wanted Hillary to Win?
Well, no, the author says, he would not go that far. However, he does point out that Putin's hack of the DNC and his simultaneous blessing of anti-Trump leaks delivered to Hillary Clinton operatives (it is impossible to believe, the author says, that sources "close to Putin" would leak such things without Putin's permission; after all, Putin routinely murders people who cross him with vicious radioactive poisons) suggest that Putin's game was to rough up both candidates and thereby sow chaos in America and distrust of democracy.
Which can also be seen by Putin's much-discussed cadre of elite FaceBook Spatznaz Keyboard Commandos promoting both pro and anti Trump rallies after his election.
And of course, Putin would not have succeeded in sowing chaos and distrust without the vital, necessary aid and abetting of America's alleged "intelligence" professionals, who bought the Kremlin ruse hook, line, and sinker.
Or maybe they never bought it -- Peter Strzok noted that there was "no big there there," regarding collusion.
Maybe they're just penny-ante Smarter Than Thou bureaucrats who think they should be running this country and deciding who can be president and who can't be, based on their leftwing partisan preferences.
So clearly these former American intelligence officers have weakened our country, and have wittingly or unwittingly done Putin's bidding. How much of this is a product of fraud, and how much is simply partisan credulity, should be a serious issue of future studies, hopefully soon to be accelerated with a declassification of pertinent Russiagate-related documents.
If in fact the Russiagate investigation had a sound basis, one would think that, in addition to causing nasty leaks, these officials would be the loudest proponents of the declassification and release of key documents elucidating the grounds for the probe. So their present diffidence should be seen as a big tip-off as to what these documents will show and what they will not show.
Brennan, Comey and the rest likely know that if key documents are to be produced, their current, absurd cries of treason will be their last hurrah. Indeed, logic suggests that they have been either dishonest or, yes, grossly negligent, in the discharge of their duties, in either case growing out of blinding partisanship. So it seems apparent that there have been no more useful idiots, pushing Putin's malevolent designs, than the recent heads of American intelligence. We hope -- without confidence -- that they will soon get their just due, and American intelligence will return to an honest, nonpartisan professional enterprise.
