The following story provided by a Moron. If you're ever in FL, looks like a fun visit.

BifBewalskiBot, the wife Bot and our 14 year old Bot'ette.

While vacationing in the redneck riviera, we stopped in at Uncle Sandy's Macaw Bird Park https://macawbirdpark.org/ in Pensacola FL. This guy takes in and rescues parrots from owners that can no longer care for their birds. Many of these are birds that have outlived their owners. We showed up at opening time expecting a zoo like experience, but we're handed little buckets of peanuts and apples to hand feed the birds. OMG! What an experience!

One of the bird was an African Grey that managed to survive a raccoon attack. Lost a leg. Little dude would snuggle and coo and rub his head against your hand like a cat, all while lying in your palm like a little baby.

There were two emus that would eat from your hand, several chickens (how does he pair the chickens with the macaws?), a bunch of cockatiels, some African greys, several different breeds of macaws and others I cannot remember. One little cocatiel would say "dance George" and Bob up and down to get an apple chunck.

If any of you Morons get to Pensacola for any reason, ya gotta visit this place. $5 /head, and the experience will stick with you for a lifetime.

Wife Bot has photos, but has them all on her phone. I'll try to get them somewhere accessible for links in the pet thread.

Here is the new kitten, named Bleu, we bought Home today. She is a rescue from the local no kill shelter. My daughter wanted a kitten for her up coming birthday. I started looking at bengals and my husband said we are absolutely NOT spending thousands on a cat. So we started looking around and found the shelter who adopts kittens for a way more reasonable $130. Well, turns out they were running a Cat Days of Summer promo and all cat adoptions are free in July. We're pretty sure she has Russian Blue in her background and Husband wanted to name her Collusion. The picture where you can see the white spot on her chest is from the shelter page taken by her foster parents.

Cute little kitten. So how are things going at home?

Taken this past week. One of Lucky, and the other of Pepper saying ‘you won’t let me up on the back of the good couch.’. Actually, the two are getting along pretty good.

Eromero and Mrs. E

Looks like the little critter is getting along quite well. Thanks for updating us. Good luck with them.

Here are Lady Guinevere (R. I. P. ) and Molly Golightly. This photo was taken two summers ago. They were on their way to an evening wedding, hence the third strand of pearls.
Some say the bride is always the most beautiful one at the wedding.
Guinevere raised one eyebrow. Molly just smiled politely. - Le Garde Vieux

Thanks for sharing with us. It seems all involved have a sense of humor.

Recently lost our 8 year old Doberman, Mina, the one on the left. Went to pick up her and Geddy from the sitter after a weekend away. She was so excited to see us, jumping and kissing us, she bolted out of the sitters door onto the grass, fell over and died of a heart attack (we’re assuming). I can only take comfort is knowing she was most excited to see us and go home when she died. Geddy is getting used to being an only child, tho we’ve been babysitting my son’s dog, a border collie/St. Bernard mix, C.J., for a few weeks. Come to discover that 50% of Doberman deaths are due to heart failures due to the breeds in-breeding. I read that by 2030 the breed will be genetically determined to die from heart failures. Sad. Such a beautiful and gentle breed. - S. Lynn

What a sad story S. Lynn. So sorry to hear of your dog's passing at such a young age. It is a shame that there are some unscrupulous breeders who pass along genetic defects. Unfortunately, it isn't confined to the Doberman breed.
