The Morning Report 7/6/18

whendov.jpg

Good morning kids. The weekend is here, or at least the official weekend considering the midweek July 4th holiday. Lots of ground to cover so let's get right to it.

First on the hit parade (no pun, but still) we have our internal unrest, some calling it an actual civil war (me included, I guess) fueled by the election of Donald Trump and the resultant dropping of the mask of civility, such as it was, by the American Democrat-Left. Alan Dershowitz, a stalwart, lifelong liberal has now received death threats on top of being openly shunned on Martha's Vineyard, the bacteria that assaulted a kid at a Texas Whataburger has been fired from his bartending gig, racial arsonist and crackpot Marc Lamont Hill used his platform on CNN to condone what happened to the victim of the latter, and the man who started the #WalkAway "movement" if you will was recognized at an electronics store and refused service, although I guess maybe that one falls under the category of First Amendment. Meh, all of these things are interrelated in one way or another. That doesn't trouble me so much especially in light of the SCOTUS cake shop decision.

Horrific as all of this is, especially in light of Steve Scalise, Rand Paul as well as the in-your-face put-to-the-line harassment of Trump officials, America is seeing exactly who and what the Democrat party is up close and personal. The good news is, America is revolted by it. Unfortunately, the more America rejects this, the more the Left intensifies the attacks and no doubt a drink in the face and spittle flecked shrieking will become bullets and pipe bombs before long. At some point, there will be a reaction and then all bets will be off.

The President kicked ass and took names at a rally in Montana where he blasted the Democrats as the party of anarchy, chaos and open borders. He ripped into everyone from Palsi and Schemer to Lieawatha and SCOAMF and Jon Tester, who screwed over PDT by torpedoing Ronny Jackson. It was classic Trump all the way. In other political news, as "Loopy Velez" Ocasio-Cortez's hypocrisy is further revealed, another longtime NYC Democrat stalwart Dov Hikind has announced he is leaving the party and supporting the GOP until, get this, Schumer restores sanity. Dov, bubbie, I hate to be the bearer of bad news... And by the way, "Loopy Velez" only won Joe Crowley's seat because voter turnout was very low. The old bull pulled a Hillary and thought that by just being on the ticket the seat was a lock. Several takeaways there, all of which will be ignored and that is all to the good.

Meanwhile, the SCOTUS nominee announcement could come before Monday, and those supporting each of the candidates are sowing discord/pimping their preferences in the media. I honestly don't know enough about any, and I linked to both a pro and con for Kavanaugh just as an illustration (the latter was written by "anonymous" so that there is kind of a tip off). For no other reason than she clerked for Scalia, and that the Left is really out for blood with her, my choice is Coney-Barrett.

And speaking of which, as we all know, the Left claimed Scott Pruitt's scalp yesterday via a mix of unsubstantiated rumors, professional sabotage at the agency by the Deep State embeds, threats against him and his family and the character assassination attacks engineered by Nazi Collaborator George Soros and commie Van Jones. But, they get him only after Pruitt took a rhetorical axe to that vipers nest of insanity. The good news is his replacement(s) are all acolytes of James Inhofe, who openly has called "climate change" and "global warming" a scam.

In Spygate news, the accusations against Jim Jordan seem to be coming from specious sources at best. Shocking, I know. Meanwhile with absolutely nothing after nearly 18 months, Mueller is expanding the collusion probe yet again. Insane as this all is, I think the President is going to wait until the day after the midterms to fire Mueller and hopefully Sessionszzzzzz and Rosenfraud with him. Unless Mueller has an October surprise. He's got three whole months to manufacture something.

On the international scene, as unrest in Iran grows, that regime is desperate to save the Obama-era nuke sellout with the Eurabians, a task made slightly more difficult with the revelations of a planned terror attack on an anti-regime rally. Also, thanks to the end of that deal and PDT, the Farsis have completely stopped harassing US ships on the high seas. Supposedly, PDT had considered invading Venezuela and in related news, socialist paradise on earth Nicaragua has entered drain-circling mode as Daniel Ortega ramps up violence in the bid to stave off a civil war and possible coup. And France is dealing with its own "migrant" crisis while in Italy uncertainty reigns though chaos is not far off. All of this thanks the Merkel, though France lit the fuse a long long time ago all on its own.

Going around the horn, troubling news about terrorism and the porous border, more troubling news about homegrown ISIS supporters and the US military, growing concern about the monopolization of our hospitals, Jersey's governor Murphy is making the already painful even more excruciating, some Seattle cops are fed up with the communism, Daniel Greenfield on diversity as racism and, somewhat related, how Asian-Americans can perhaps put the nail in the coffin of affirmative action.

Finally, we note with sadness the passing of acclaimed documentary film maker Claude Lanzmann at age 92. Over the course of many years, Lanzmann interviewed both victims and perpetrators of the Holocaust to create (for me) the definitive work on the subject with "Shoah." At eight hours in length, the film takes a commitment to watch, but once you start you are compelled to watch it. Actually, you become a witness as you relive the horrors of the time through testimony and current day footage (there are no scenes of bodies and atrocities). The opening title card of the film is a quote from Isaiah 56:5 - I will give them an everlasting name. Indeed. RIP.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

"Shoah" Trailer below the fold.
